1949 Newspaper Ad for the CJ-3A

This newspaper was featured in the August 11, 1949, issue of the North Carolina Marion Progress Newspaper. Bristol’s Auto Service published several jeep-related ads, including this one.

    Other Jeep ads from this period have shown a Newgren plow with the Monroe lift, since Monroe owned Newgren at this time. I believe that is a Ferguson plow. Ferguson was going to sell his implements through Jeep dealers, but backed out of the deal. An Oct 1948 Provo, Utah ad lists Ferguson, Dearborn and Newgren implements as available for use with the Monroe lift.

    By the spring of 1949 Monroe was just pushing Newgren plows. They were also still showing 2a models in their ads. Nice find with the early 3a.
