UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.

I’ve never seen one of these bodies. Unfortunately, the Dune Buggy Archives site isn’t working correctly, so I can’t tell what type of body it is.

“Full length Dune buggy pickup/truck. Pretty rare find. I believe it is sitting on a 1962 chassis, linkpin front, swing axle rear. Motor turns over freely but not running. ” NO TITLE””

Neat, reminds of the, wish I had a dune buggy story from the 1960’s, some stories are better left unsaid.

Well Dave, As the story goes, back in the 1960’s, (of course, what other decade would it be) I had my 1967 Jeepster Commando and the nightly routine was to pick up the gang and cruise the avenues in Clifton, NJ. Crazy George was my best buddy back then, no fear, do anything on a dare, it was a time when you could ride down the avenue and “moon” passers by, and nobody got bent out of shape. This was a favorite pastime of crazy George, it was funny, but not in MY Jeepster. (Just to give you the mindset of Georige boy, one evening, we happened to be driving past a fiberglass molding business that made noses for UPS trucks, and dune buggy bodies.

Off the top of my head, I just happened to say, I’d like to have a dune buggy body, and put it on my 62 Bug. Not thinking much about it. Next morning, George is at my door bright & early, and asks me to take a walk with him down the block to the fields by the Parkway. Ok, strange request, but what the hell is that behind the tall grass? None other than a metalflake green dune buggy body. George and his goombas, carried it along the railroad tracks out of sight for least 2 miles. Of course, it was left in the fields, and Clifton’s finest never did figure it out. This was life in the 1960’s Clifton, NJ ….Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end, we’d live and laugh the whole day through. More tales from the Memory Vault.
