Those side window panels look too low, are they installed reversed?
Just the drivers side it looks like. Maybe a visibility thing like plowing snow.
My guess is whoever assembled this M-38 top had 2 right rear window panels and no left rear window panel so the spare right rear panel was flipped upside down and installed as a left rear panel. The window location is now much lower than original with the panel flipped but the door latch and dove tail are now higher than needed for the driver’s door.
Alaska Paul, now that explanation makes sense, with all your experience, that is a logical conclusion.
