1945? GPW? Billings, MT $9700

UPDATE: Still Available.

Seller believes this is a 1945 VEC CJ-2A, but it looks more like a GPW (tool lids) with a CJ grille to me. If the serial number is accurate, it may be a 1943 GPW.

Makes me wonder whether they’re illiterate, unaware of the dearth of knowledge available on the internet , or deliberately trying to perpetrate a fraud . The asking price is the icing on the cake. The F Head motor is a bonus!

I just noticed there are GPW tool box lids, so it appears to be a GPW body at the very least.

Peter: Hard to say. There are folks who are still pretty challenged when it comes to the internet. It would be interesting to see what the title says.

Just noticed this, looking at picture #1, there appears to be no hole cut in the hood. Now look at picture #2, isn’t that a square hole cut in the hood? Maybe somebody had second thought about cutting the hole, then patched it. No big deal, just an observation.

The pictures were taken at different times. The earlier one without the hole in the hood has clean right fender and hood and the carb hole picture has a very spotty fender and hood. It has a ventilating windshield and a full floating rear.

I should have looked at this one more carefully, but I was pretty distracted this weekend.

It sure seems like someone used older and newer photos.

Peter: re:no title. I wouldn’t be surprised either.

  6. Combat

It has a ford body and a military windshield. Most likely a march or April 1943 Gpw . If that is the ser.#.
Someone has put a 2a grill and “improvements ” on her.
