1950 CJ-3A Spokane, WA Make Offer

UPDATE II: Still Available.

UPDATE: This is actually the 2nd Oneida hardtop found with a flat fender in the Spokane area (other is here). Maybe someone was converting them at the Air Force Base west of Spokane?

This top surprised me. It has a date plate! It seems to be some kind of manufactured-for-the-military hardtop. It’s made by the Oneida Products Corp. out of Oneida, New York. The manufacture date is August 1951.

Not the best looking top I’ve seen, but plenty of headroom. Feel sorry for the front springs and frame horns, it isn’t enough to have winch on it but add a plow way out there and then throw weights on that.

The data plate reads 3/4 ton. This Cj3a is a 1/4 ton and the M38 is a 1/4 ton. This top has been modified. It’s intended use is for the likes of a M37.

aha .. good thinking Mike. That would explain the look and why I’ve not seen one of these tops previously.

I had a 1952 Dodge M37 That I put a hard top on and it didn’t look anything like that. M37 has a pickup bed in the back, the cab is separate from the bed like a standard pickup truck.

Ok as Mike pointed out and if anybody paid attention initially, he said “THE LIKES OF AN M37”. And Mikes main point is it’s made specifically for 3/4 TON. How does one miss that in the add?

This modified top was originally made for the WC series of dodge trucks from ww2, predecessor to the m37. I have a couple of those complete tops.
