“A 1948 Willy’s CJ2A. Jeep is in very good condition. Shows less than 18 K miles on odometer. This was a classic barn find near Audubon Iowa in 1978, and was purchased by my father and driven home. The motor was smoking badly at that time and it sat indoors in heated storage for many years. In the last few years the 4 cylinder flat head motor has been rebuilt, the 3 speed manual drive line gone thru, the brake, fuel, and cooling systems repaired/replaced.

New windshield glass. New seat cushions on all three seats on original frames. Still wears its faded and scratched “Princeton Black” 1948 paint excepting a few areas that were cleaned up as it was restored to be a turnkey driver. Factory(?) side steps All five original wheels, still in faded 1948 “Sunset Red”- which actually was a pumpkin orange- with a black trim stripe. All five wheels still mounted with military style non directional tires.

Has factory agriculture draw bar and factory rear pto/drum belt drive which was rebuilt and repainted. An original rebuilt and repainted factory front frame rail capstan winch was located and installed. The winch has the after war civilian data plate. Jeep is 6 volt, and an original under dash coil with cutoff key switch was reinstalled. Only bad rust I have noted is that the floor of the under seat tool compartment is flaked and pinholed by rust. There is surface rust at points of paint wear.

Have reproduction top bows and a vintage two piece canvas top set that closes off just the front seats or can be combined to close off the front and rear with side panels and doors. Final fitting of that top will be required, and there are a number of mounting points for the top that are not present, as the top was sourced separately. The canvas is well shrunk from storage as well.

The outside driver’s mirror is not present, but the mounting area is still on the body. (It requires an MB type outside mirror mount. If I come across one here I will include it) Has a factory hot water heater with fan above the drivers foot well. Really needs to be seen, please email to make arrangements. Jeep is stored in West Des Moines, Iowa. Clear and current Iowa Title. 15000 OBO

I also have a late 1940s , possibly 1947,(based off an internet posted list of known serial numbers/year of manufacture) Bantam T3-C civilian ¼ ton trailer made after the war from the T3 WWII jeep trailers that Bantam built during the war. Factory Ball hitch, not a lunette. Has a drop tail gate and factory mounted plates to stiffen the rear sides of the box, as military versions were a sealed tub so they could float. Has the Bantam T3-C data plate with serial number, these plates are believed to be made from cut down military data plates. As found condition, needs restoration. Probably about 90 percent plus original. Would be correct for use with the CJ2A. 1500 OBO”
