Kayline? Tire Carrier San Antonio, TX **SOLD**

UPDATE: Was $150. Sold …. Bill notes this is likely a Kayline. I originally thought Whitco, but I can see now that the cross bracing is different.

I believe this is a Whitco spare tire holder.

“CJ Willys / Jeep Swing Spare Tire Mount. $150.00
All the pieces are there. Just bolt on and your ready to go. If your jeep has BIG tires and the spare is always in the way, perhaps this swing tire mount will help. It does NOT interfere with the tail gate action.”

I let a guy in Nevada on Early CJ5 who has been searching for one of these carriers for years for his 1971 Ren 1 know about this yesterday. He just bought it, and already had a friend in San Antonio pick it up for him. He is beyond delighted, and asked me to express his sincere appreciation to you for posting it, Dave.

Still not sure which manufacturer made it, but this carrier appears to be an earlier version of the OEM model shown in the 1975 AMC Jeep Parts catalog you posted in October. The only noticeable difference is some diagonal bracing, which was likely added by the manufacturer to the later version of the carrier shown in the catalog. Here’s that post:

    Thanks again, Dave! – Maury
