1965 Flattie Baltimore, MD $9500

• CATEGORIES: DJ-5 & DJ-6, Other 4x4s

This custom 2WD creation is currently being advertised as a 1949 jeep. The axles appear to be from a DJ-5B circe 1972. The centered pumpkin in the rear should help verify this era of rear axle. The body is a reproduction body. The frame could be something from 1965, hence the title. but the DJ-5As weren’t manufactured until 1967.

“1949 Willys Military Jeep – must see, garaged. Runs and looks great for 71 year old vehicle! Titled as a 1965 for this is when it was released to the public from the US government. Has mount for machine gun. Also have soft top. All military plates still in tack on dash. Have to see to appreciate. $9500 or best offer. May entertain trades.”

Could it be a real M38 body? All data plates there mounted to the removable plate and a removable instrument cluster?

Someone spent a lot of time creating an overpriced mess. Nothing like this was bought by the government in ’49 or released by them in ’65. Not all data plates are there: the critical, serial number, date of issue plate is missing and replaced by a home made one on the bottom right. The gauge panel is wrong for an M38. Etc etc. I’m not trying to be mean, but stuff like this is so misleading.
