In CA plates transfer with the vehicle when sold.
Shouldn’t a 49 CJ3A have a tailgate?
Clem: Perhaps placed on the hood for protection (for some reason)? I’ve never seen it done quite like that.
Chuck: Yep, it should have a tailgate. It doesn’t look like a DJ-3A body, so maybe the tailgate has been removed, replaced by a new back piece?
Barney: I lived in California, but couldn’t remember if that’s how it worked.
