    Upper rear corners don’t have a body seam running all the way up.
    Patched or Replacement ??? Let me know.

    Kurt, my guess is that the body’s been ‘restored’. I’m basing that on the number of extra holes atop the wheel wells and a few extra around the side. To me it suggests the exterior was repaired and smoothed, but the interior was left alone.

    There was a military work order to reinforce that area of the body because of the weight of the arctic tops. A plate was welded in that corner to reinforce the body. There is a description and photo in the M38 reference guide by Ryan Miller. Apparently not all of them got the extra support, but many did.

    Thanks for the information. I picked up a M38 early this year and have a lot to learn. When I saw it hit eWillys I thought it would be gone quickly. Luckily the add had no photos.
