If memory serves me correctly, the grill bars on this model were the typical up & down placement. Back in the late 1980’s, I had a opportunity to get one of these for free, just didn’t have the room for it. Wasn’t there another manufacturer that had a contract to build these fro the post office? could explain the grill question, Chrysler comes to mind.

May I ask a serious question, what would be a reasonable price on a truck like this?

Why I ask: I’ve been tasked with finding a “cute” delivery vehicle for my wife’s decor and flower company, and naturally they like this obscure truck.

Thank you for the insights – and to Dave E. for keeping up an awesome site!

OK, I now have an answer to my inquisitive question. If you do a google search FJ6 Fleetvan, you will come up with a page of pictures showing two (2) different styles of post office vehicles both classified as FJ6 Fleetvans. Note the different windshields and vertical and horizontal grill bars. The one with the vertical griil bars id the only one that I’ve ever seen. The other, horizontal grill, resembles the full size Dodge van Chrysler made for the Post office in the 1960’s. I trying to copy & paste the link to this page, but for some reason, it doesn’t work, so just google search FJ6 Fleetvan and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

That sure seems strange given that the FJ-3 to FJ-3A switched also. You’d think they would have figure out the grille by the time they got to the FJ-6 model.

Is this still for sale? The post link says it has expired so I can’t find any details on how to contact the seller. I’m interested.

    Hi Icee,

I looked to see if the FJ had been relisted on Craigslist, but it hasn’t. I’ve updated the post. If I see the FJ reappear I will send you an email.
