“In 1952 my Father and myself purchased this Jeep from Bernstein Bros a farm and ranch supplier in Pueblo, Colorado. Bernstein Bros purchased several islands in the Pacific after WWII and brought items back as salvage. Not sure but feel this vehicle was in the Pacific. My Father was a master restorer of old vehicles and rebuilt the engine during the winter of 52-53 and made any repairs necessary. The Jeep is titled Ford and has all F bolts but the engine says Jeep on it. The Jeep is almost stock and the only changes that were made was the addition of push plates on the front bumper and a tow bar. Also lockout hubs were added an altitude meter in the dash was installed and an electric fuel pump. I never found the shovel and the axe that mounts on the drivers side. I have all of the owners manuals that came with it.

In 1953 the Jeep was moved to our summer home in South San Juan mountains just south of Alamosa, Colorado and has been kept there in a garage for the last 67 years. The odometer now shows around 43,000 miles and it had many of them before the overhaul. Our summer home is only accessible in the summer and we use the Jeep for hunting and fishing during the summer months only.

I will be able to get back to our cabin by early May to retrieve the Jeep and it will be available then. The Jeep runs very well and has been used but never abused. It does need a wheel alignment there is a little shimmy at 30 MPH.”

Great story but I wonder why no snaps for the canvas half doors. Repro tub? Body filler?
