DJ-3A Front Seat Installation Instructions from 1956

• CATEGORIES: DJ-3A, Documents, Features

Somehow, I never posted these Instructions for installing DJ-3A seats that Terry sent me. So, here they are in a post of there own. These are the official instructions dated June 15, 1956, for the front passenger seat installation on a DJ-3A using Field Kit Attaching Parts No. 696529:

Just what I was looking for! I assume the drivers seat will need similar blocks to make both seats the same height.

Yes … blocks are needed for all the seats. The rubber on the bottom of the posts was bad on mine, so I ordered a set of rubber bottoms for a walker. They have worked great.

There were two sizes of seat frame pedestal diameters. My earliest 1956 DJ-3A had one size and roughly 200 units later the ’56 DJ-3A I sold had a different size. One had a 1″ outside diameter and one a 7/8″ outside diameter, but I can’t remember which had which.
