Blaine spotted a discussion at the Ford-Trucks.com forum on Auxiliary transmissions that included the rare Warn Auxiliary Overdrive. A user named “38 Coupe” shared a bunch of smaller Auxiliary transmission documents that included a Parts and Instruction manual for the Warn AO. So, here it is, along with some photos of a Warn unit that was for sale in April of 2015.

I love all this period after-market stuff and this one is a B.O.A.T. (Big ‘Ol Auxiliary Transmission).
    Cool stuff!

THATS GREAT !!! — I DONT REMEMBER THESE ??? —LOOKS LIKE ITS SANDWICHED BETWEEN A FORD ? TRANSMISSION AND DANA SPICER MODEL 20 T-CASE — I HAVE A RARE DANA 20 OVERDRIVE — ITS A RANCHO MODEL — THE ELECTRIC WARNER R-10 OVERDRIVE ADAPTED TO FIT THE REAR OUTPUT ON THE DANA 20 — YOU HAD TO CUT THE DRIVESHAFT TO FIT IT — I’M SAVING IT FOR A LATER JEEPSTER …

ITS WARNS ATTEMPT AT MAKING A ” BROWNIE ” GEARBOX — I WONDER IF ” BROWNIE ‘ REFERRED TO THE BROWN-LIPE COMPANY ?? — I’VE SEEN THAT NAME ON MY 1948 JEEP TRUCK TRANSFER CASE SINCE 1971 ???

Wow! That’s the most interesting add on I’ve seen. Aside from wanting one I’d love to know how many were sold. I’m guessing even when it was new there was too limited a demand for Warn to keep producing them. Thanks again Dave you hit this one out of the park.

I would guess that some of the limited demand would be the price. I don’t know what the cost was but I’m guessing it was a bit pricey.

If you’d like to send me a few pics (d@deilers.com), your location, and how much you want for it, I’d be happy to post it for sale on eWillys for you.

    thanks,
