I tried to pm this guy but no response. Can anyone tell me what to do when Facebook shows the guy’s phone number as “Hidden Information” instead of his number?

I just checked the ad and it now says, “Sold.” Looks like it was good price if it does run and drive. To answer your question, find someone who is on Facebook and have them get the number for you. I’m not on Facebook either and it seems as if more and more ads are appearing on Facebook.

Scott: Thanks for the update. I’ve updated the post. You are correct, more and more ads are appearing on FB. It’s not just jeeps either. I was looking for some local workout equipment and there was far more options on FB than on my regional Craigslist.

Worse, FB’s search is terrible, much worse that Craigslist (not that Craigslist was the greatest for searching either). FB also doesn’t allow access for third parties to create nation-wide or better search options.

Moreover, when I do a search and adjust the filters, when I want to change locations, I have to redo all the filters every time. I can’t figured out a way to make them filters ‘stick’. grrrr ….

I’m also seeing that to gain access to FB Marketplace, new members of FB have to wait up to four months for access. I have not verified this; just saw folks mentioning it in some forums.

Unfortunately, FB Marketplace seems to be the current future of classified online ads. I for one don’t like it (for all the reasons listed above and more).

Terry: As Scott mentioned, you are probably stuck either using someone else’s account or creating an account with as limited info as possible.

I was 30 minutes away from this one. It had a title which around here is rare (most deer hunter jeeps are trash, left outside at the lease). Oh well.
