The January 1952 issue of National Geographic included an expansive article on the King Ranch in Texas, which at the time was America’s largest ranch. One of the photos included in the article showed a CJ-3A (in black) and a CJ-2A (in green) towing farm implements.

Thanks Dave for the heads up on another great National Geographic that I need to search for on ebay. When you first posted the article on the Utah expedition re-featured last week, I found a pristine copy on ebay.
I do have to scratch my head as to why the huge King Ranch operation would use Jeeps rather than larger tractors for all the land that they had to deal with. Bottom line…….glad to see the Willys being the choice for the combining project

    Allan,

Glad you are enjoying this NG issues. I have another NG Southern Utah article from 1952 that is awaiting a scanning. It includes multiple jeeps.
