According to Bob Western, it looks like Pennsylvania will allow this year’s Great Willys Picnic to be hosted on Sunday, June 13th.

    I’ll be there!

For those who have not attended this event, it’s a very casual show. More like a gathering in a field to exchange stories of their triumphs and low points owning their cars, seeing old friends, making new friends, and maybe buying something in the flea market. Unlike many “car shows”, this show celebrates the fact that your vehicle drove to the show. The “winner” is picked by the attendees. One year it was an unrestored and frankly rather tatty looking 1940 pickup still sporting its original everything. If you bring something unusual, like the guy with the CJ powered by a 24(?) horsepower engine bought at Harbor Freight, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

GOSH, We missed The Great Willys Picnic last year!! Bob and Seth really give us Willys Nuts the best Willys experience available in the East, AND FOR FREE. Even if your project can’t make the trip, you’ll find others who have travelled the same road. If Willys Special Equipment blows your dress up, you’ll likely see JEEPS with stuff attached never before shown. Even for a Maine guy, 600 miles away, this is 7 hours of WILLYS fun. Let’s forget last year and get on with our Willys Passion. Mark Sunday, June 13, 2001 as your day to play with whatever Toledo product you like.

Excellent show!!! We had 80 vehicles registered on the main show field plus many people selling parts. I hope everyone took a ride on the train and purchased food at their vendor. Remember to support the Railroad since they let us use their field for this event.
