I’m scratching my head here when I ask this question, The seller states, original 6 volt system. I’m 99/100 percent sure that the military versions had a 24 volt system as original. Am I wrong?

If the VIN matches, it’s no wonder. Checking the Craigslisting, the data plate shows the Ser as 566414 with a dod of 4/18/45. We have a correct 45 MB judged at 2 national conventions with the correct, original Ser number of 436509 and dod of 4/21/45. Missing from theirs is the inspector’s imprint which should be located in the same space and to the right of the Gross Wt. I believe a data plate was created to match an engine serial number which would be higher due to engines being pulled out of sequence and sent to Hobart or other companies for power plants. Otherwise, a nice tribute Navy Jeep.

Tool box lock indents (rectangle) indicate a ’42-’43 Ford tub…’45 would have been ACM2 body with round indents…Highest Ford Serial # and motor # (motor # should match the serial# on GPW’s) is 244345, so # 566414 is incorrect for both…Flat motor # boss behind the water pump apears to be civilian…Nice solid GPW, but buyer should look closer…IMHO
