UPDATE: **SOLD** Was at an Estate Sale.

Matt spotted this ad. No price yet on this one. It sounds like it doesn’t run.

I spoke with Marina at the auction company yesterday, they didn’t have a lot of info on the Jeep maintenance wise or even the serial number. It does have approximately 39,000 miles on it. Family has owned it since the mid 1960s.

I spoke with her also and gleaned the same info. Said also the brakes were locked up on it.
She emailed me the bid packet but decided that since I couldn’t see the pass side or engine compartment I wouldn’t mess with it. Disappointed they didn’t do a better job advertising or presenting it. Could mean someone got a bargain though. I’ll call her Mon and see what it brought.
The FB post Barry refers to was probably a scam. These scammers pick pictures off legit sales sites and create phoney FB and CL listings to get people to mail in deposits, etc.

Barney: The brakes not working isn’t a minor one to leave out of a description! I think you are smart not to mess with it at that price.

Barry: The Wrangler listing is a common issue on Facebook. Apparently, many times FB isn’t giving an option for another model choice when listing a jeep. Some folks know to explain in the text of their listings about this issue, that their jeep isn’t a Wrangler, but they had no other category choice. So, the FB ad could very well be valid.

Thanks Dave. I emailed her to ascertain the selling price and will probably call her. Any dedicated parts for a DJ are going to be expensive and hard to find. No photos of the engine, passenger side or rear or detail photos of the cab creates a big gamble for someone purchasing without attending the sale.

I bought it! I’m in Texas and my wonderful son-in-law ( Jeep guy) found it and lives close by. Thank goodness everyone was skeptical. It’s in the best shape and everything original. He says it’s really cool. I have wanted one of these since I was a little girl playing with my pink Tonka one!
