Thanks for posting Dave! This one is mine. Here is the more detailed description Facebook wouldn’t let me add.
Up for sale is a very complete original 1946 CJ2A. I will start off saying that it does not currently run but would not take much work to get it running. All of the correct original drivetrain is there and in good shape. I believe the transmission and transfer case will most likely need to be gone through. The rear driveshaft and emergency brake drum assembly are currently out of it as the previous owner was fixing a seal in the transfer case. But this Jeep is a true barn find and has not been messed with besides the one paint job it had over its original harvest tan and the addition of the incorrect tail lights. It still has whats left of the original fabric on the drivers seat, early short side view mirror, 16” motor wheels, and all but one of its data tags (small body tag on the firewall). This is a 3 tag CJ2A so it is technically an EC or early civilian. This was one of the first floor shift Jeeps after they switched from column shift. The frame is in very good shape. The sheet metal is in good shape but the tub will definitely need some repairs including the front floors, tool box and parts of the rear floor. I believe it would be an excellent candidate for restoration as everything is there and in usable shape. It would also be neat to get it running and drive it just like it is. I just have too many projects right now and don’t have the time to give this jeep the attention it deserves. It will be sold with a bill of sale only, it does not have a title. I am asking $4800 obo. It is located in Westbrook Connecticut. Anyone interested can contact me at eight six zero three zero four three six three nine. Thanks, Matt
