“Up for auction is a AMC M422 A1 Mighty Mite
The original data plate is missing but the frame number is 3232, the body number is 3521, the hood number is 310001 and there are faint unit markings on each side and on the tailgate that consist of the letter V with the numbers 600 above the V and HQ to the bottom right of the V.
The Aluminum body is in good shape without any major damage. There is some cracking around the master cylinder access hole, a shallow dent in the top of the hood and small dent in the passenger side front corner of the fender. Please refer to the pictures for overall condition.
The steel body to windshield cowl is very thin and will need to be replaced. It would make an excellent template to fabricate an new one. The steel windshield frame is in pretty rough shape. I have seen worse saved though.

The frame is very solid as is the front hat channel under the blower and the cross brace mid frame. The area of the frame just forward of the steering box was cut by the previous owner. It will be an easy fix. There is a bolted in cross brace at the front of the frame to assist in moving the Mite around. I have not attempted to turn over the engine. It appears mostly complete. I know it is missing one heat riser tube, top of the air cleaner, air cleaner hose, belts and an ignition coil. The tires hold air long enough to move the vehicle. The rear brakes on the driver side are pretty frozen but the wheel will turn when pulling.
Please look at all of the pictures to see all parts included in the sale. The blower housing is in good shape and not rotted out. The front inner fenders are in excellent shape. The front grille needs some TLC but is definitely restorable.
If you are unfamiliar with the Mighty Mite please do your research before bidding. Almost all parts were only made for this vehicle and less that 4,000 were made. They are lightweight at 1,700lbs and consist of a rivited aluminum body on a steel ladder frame with full independent suspension using quarter elliptical springs and leading and trailing arms. Both differentials are limited slip, drum brakes are inboard of the wheels next to the differentials.
The transmission is a fully synchronized 3 speed in 2WD and 4 speed in 4wd
The engine is an AMC air cooled V4
Please ask questions prior to bidding. If you have zero feedback please contact me prior to bidding.
I can assist in loading the vehicle with a forklift.”

    Hi Guy,

This was posted to an eBay auction earlier this year. I can not longer find it on eBay, so I expect it sold. I’ve updated the post.
