No doubt about it, a beautiful example of a classic vintage, un- molested CJ5, but how do we determine what it is worth? It maybe worth the 24 grand if you have a lot of “play money” maybe Jay Leno would like to add it to his vast collection of vintage vehicles. But consider the asking price verse’s the size of the buyers market for such a Jeep as this one. A museum piece most likely, but a liability for any other guy that owns it. Not being critical, just trying to figure this out in my “POOR BOY MIND”, or should I say, “it boggles my mind”.

    An unrusted, un-messed with pre-AMC CJ-5.
    Certainly rare.
Probably worth the money to someone, after all, these days $24k for a used classic SUV (or any other collector car) isn’t much.
If a run of the mill drivable CJ-5 or M-38A1 is $10-15,000, and a very Nice restored MB/GPW is $30k+, I’m hard pressed to say it is too much money.
Having said that, a later CJ-5 with a factory V-8 (more “fun”, more power, more refinements) would be a better long term investment.

Just to make a point, I think this style Kelly cab was introduced after 1962, more like 65-66, in my humble opinion, not original to the 1962 model year Jeep. What do you experts have to say about this?
