UPDATE: Updates should start appearing shortly today (Monday).

A wind storm blew through Friday night, knocking out power and dropping branches from numerous trees. We spent yesterday cleaning up, with more to do today. So, next updates will be Monday.

Willows are a neat tree but they are very messy. I have to pick up branches after every wind storm. Our very large willow is almost dead and losing large limbs. We had 65 mph wind gusts in Illinois on Saturday and I hoped Mother Nature would finish the job, saving me from falling it this winter. The wind did clear my yard of all the leaves, blowing them into the field, so that was good.

We started with six willows, but removed four. Now, we have two, with each anchoring the two front yards. My wife really likes them and, they are pretty when not a hassle, so they will likely stay. But, we fully expect branches to fall with each windstorm.
