This unusual jeep dealers point-award’s catalog on eBay has a buy-it-now price of $39.99. It’s an unusual item for sure. My understanding is that dealers (or sales folks?) earned points in various ways that they could redeem for items in the catalog. There’s a pretty extensive choice of items!

I thought this brochure was interesting for those reasons, too. I just wasn’t ready to chase it at that price.

That is some serious swag !! When I was working in our small town Chevrolet dealership in high school and in between college and Navy stints…….we got incentive catalogs also…….but nothing like this. You would get catalog points in the service dept by increasing parts and labor sales. You would get points in the sales dept by selling more cars and trucks. These incentive programs were quite common amongst all major manufacturers. I earned enough points one year to get ……a new pair of Bass Weejun loafers…..a new tennis racket……a winter coat for my mother…..and a new hunting vest for my father.

These types of incentives continued for many years and morphed more recently into vacation trips with people from other dealerships to places like Hawaii, Disney , even so overseas locations. When I went to work for Chevrolet Division of GM Corp., I was in a sales, service and marketing group that put some of the incentive packages together……..and then we would also compete internally to “host” these trips……the good ole days !

Color, thick catelog…I’d bet that was put together and the program administered (gifts arranged) by a contractor.
Jeep signed up, put its own cover on the catalog.
Then someone at Jeep would run the prigram.

    JohnB,

I agree. In fact, I wonder what the history of this program-manager was, at it was clearer large. It must have spanned quite a few dealers and probably industries.
