“Andy’s Picks”
Pretty neat Monroe Lift
https://www.facebook.com/share/15nRCjr2JN/
From what I could find these were released around Feb, 13 1948 (<<<<< edit, I had 47 here, thanks Barry for making me doible check that), here is a clipping from the Detroit paper.
Also here is a clipping from 1948 for an Ad for a 1948 Jeep with a Monroe Lift and just about everything but a kitchen sink. 8-2-1948
Following that led me to this neat ad. 3-28-1948
We have some of the Monroe Auto Equipment Company history at https://www.farmjeep.com/lifts/monroe-lift/monroe-lift-history/ It was the third “‘Jeep’ Approved” hydraulic lift, sold by Willys. It was produced until the mid-1950s and is the most common of the lifts seen today.
Thanks Barry for providing that link! Great to see the original documents. I ran across 2 other Monroe / Jeep newspaper pieces not related to the lift, will toss those up when able.
Dave and I have shared a lot of resources over the years. There are many links to eWillys on my son Evan’s and my website. I have also provided some content. I look forward to continuing that relationship.
No need to publish this comment. But I would appreciate a direct contact email when it is ready.
Email sent! Thanks, Tim
Great price on the lift although it appears to be missing the leveling link and center link, also not sure if control valve reservoir assembly is there or pump etc. Does have a set of the original anti sway bars hooked up to it which are hard to come by
This jeep also has a t98 and a Perkins diesel, although not the factory setup offered from 61-68, still a cool little rig
Damn that sweetens the deal for sure, that trannys a bonus. Seller should have had that stuff listed and it would have been gone quickly although looks spoken for so that’s cool. I can stop thinking about how to get it home from Florida!
Thanks for taking over the reins Tim.
The “More Jeep Power” ad – this was published on Feb, 13 1948? If I may ask, what was the name of the Detroit paper it appeared in?
Sorry I missed this comment.
