Seller Description
Willys Wagon, no engine, PTO winch. It has no glass, and needs restoration. A worthwhile project! It comes with a Colorado title.
Nice wagon.. wish it were closer.
Not a criticism of this particular vehicle…but what is it with Jeep wagons with Jerry cans attached to the side of the cowl?
I’ve seen a couple others lately.
Fuel weighs 6lbs per gallon so that is 30 pounds per side plus the weight of the can and holder.
Is there reinforcment in the cowl so they’re not just hung on sheet metal screws?
And hopefully in real life, they’d be empty.
I guess it’s to give trucks the safari look for their visits to Trader Joe’s for Organic Salsa.
Think those cans (and many others) have been there for like 50+ years….
Some guys actually drove their rigs in remote places and needed extra fuel. Was a popular spot to mount them.. doesn’t mess with the rear gate, etc etc.
I don’t dispute the occasional need for extra fuel, I’m just wondering how well it’s attached to the truck.
Is there a reinforcement inside the body it bolts to or is is a “bubba mod”.
It’s just the way it was done back in the day. You bought a can with one of the holders, drilled some holes and done deal. If you were ahead of the curve maybe some reinforcement added to the back.
Certainly nothing to do with TJ’s or mall crawling lol.
