New to eWillys? Here is a very brief synopsis of this website: You can Contact Me with questions, comments or concerns. The image to the right is of my Jeep - Lost Biscuit. Learn more about eWillys, about Me or read the FAQs.

1. This website is dedicated to pre-1980s Jeeps &/or Willys, though it mostly focuses on flat-fenders (MBs, GPWs, CJ-2As, CJ-3As, CJ-3Bs, M-38s, DJ-3as). If you want to post something (your build, your jeep or sale, etc), it is easy; just contact me.

2. Most of the content on this site relates to flatties that ARE or WERE for sale on craigslist and ebay. My interest here is to help people buy & sell Jeeps & parts; to educate about 'old school' modifications and available parts; to make connections with other Willys Enthusiasts; and to entertain.

It’s never been clear to me how a M-606 really differs from a CJ-3B (though there are a few very minor differences noted here).  After Jim pointed this jeep out to me, I revisited the M-606 section of the CJ-3B Page and found this paragraph, which I think explains it perfectly:

Walter Snelling wrote, As result of reviewing as much information as I could find, I have concluded that my Jeep is a good example of an early Navy CJ-3B. For what it is worth, I now firmly believe that our government never used M606′s, but only CJ-3B’s. For me the most convincing data was that different M classifications for various Jeeps were used just for export. The same classification system is also found in the Dodge Power Wagons used by our Government and exported. I believe the problem is that many people like to think of their military CJ-3B as having a more typical military classification. I know I fell into that group.

Now, regarding this CJ-3B, the seller lists it as a 1953, but the serial number of 454-GB219619 appears to put it as a 1954.
