Lots of photos on eBay. This looks good from a distance, but the close up photos show it’s not so nice as it first appears. Along the front there are bubbles underneath the paint for example. The windshield wipers could use polish (for the price they are asking).

I’ve included part of the text of the ad, because there’s a lot and it’s a bit over the top. For example, “As we climb into the cab of this cumbersome conundrum, we quickly realize that the restoration wasn’t just an exterior one. Sliding into the newly restored leather seats is a pleasant experience, as your eyes can’t help but take in the view across the span of this giant windshield. “1960 Willy’s Jeep Forward Control FC 170 with original Garwood PTO/hydraulic dump bed. 226 flat head 6 cylinder that has a spun rod bearing. Rebuilt T98a 4 speed trans w/new clutch and rebuilt Dana 18 transfer case. 4×4, Dana 44 front and Dana 53 rear axle, 4″ lift springs. Was running and driving 15years ago until rod bearing spun. disabled the bad cylinder and ran it on 5 cylinders for a few years(just to move it around the yard), but now it sits. No time and too many other projects, I know FC’s are rare, this one is one of a couple hundred factory cab and chassis made in 1960. Was a bought new buy Forest Service in Cle Elum. When it was surplus, it was bought by a gold miner that used it on his claim outside of Cle Elum until the late 1990’s. It is ruff, but complete and I need it gone! $2000 OBO. If you want to negotiate the price, then show up with a trailer and cash in your hand and we can talk.”

“1957 FC-150 Jeep Pickup 4×4. No engine or transmission in this project vehicle. Electric/Hydraulic flatbed dump. The 7′ bed makes it seem longer like its FC-170 cousin with a 9′ bed. The original pickup bed in an FC-150 is 6′ long.

The condition of the cab is in the top 10% of the surviving FC’s in my estimation. The cab corners are solid. The only rust is along the front edge below the grill, see photos. It doesn’t look like it was repaired before a previous owner painted it. The doors close very nicely. No typical crease in the driver’s door. And the floors are solid.

It’s an easy project waiting for your engine/transmission combination. I have an original F4-134 engine and T-90 transmission from another FC at an additional cost. The truck still has the original 4 cyl. motor mounts. I planned to install a Ford Mustang 6-200 cu. in. engine adapted to a Willys T-90. I would sell the Ford small six with adapter & T-90 for what I have into it. Or use your own engine preference. A V8 is not recommended in this little truck. V6, yes!

If you don’t like the dump bed, I also have an original bed from a 1960 FC150 that needs the rails straightened and some rust repair, and can easily be adapted to the earlier frame if you prefer an original bed, for a little more cost.”

“up for auction is my rare willys jeep fc 170. This is a cabover jeep pickup made for only a few years. The truck starts runs and drives well but will overheat after a few minutes and the brakes need attention. You will need to tow or trailer it away. A chevy 350 engine and automatic trans have been installed. The front driveshaft has not been fitted. The vehicle needs work. The body is solid with minimal rust for the year. It has been a California car all its life. It is a very charismatic vehicle that gets smiles and waves wherever it goes.”

“Hi all, for sale is a 1959 Willys FC-150 truck. It has the 3 speed transmission, 3 speed transfer case, and the hurricane f-134 f-head 4 cylinder. Clean title, solid bed, and solid cab. Does not have the typical windshield frame rust. Factory optioned rear pto. Includes spare tire. Passenger door window is broken bus is flat glass that can be cut. Windshield is not chipped or cracked and all of the hard to find parts are there. Has 39,000 original miles and engine runs well, but could use a tune up. Will need brakes and electrical work to be a driver. Willys only made about 3,000 of these trucks in 1959, so they are a pretty rare find. This is a true 1 ton work truck!
Would consider trades for an air-cooled vw (either bus, truck, beetle, or type 3 or 4), a few nice guitars and cash, nice amplifiers and cash, a newer truck, or a chevy corvair.”
