This FC supposedly spent it’s life running the railroad tracks.  No railroad wheels left according to the seller.

“Hello Gearheads. Here is a very restorable, rare vehicle for your consideration. A ton of great parts, or easy restoration. It is a 1962 Jeep FC170 truck that is in great unrestored condition. It of course is 4wd, with a snow blade, ( hydraulics have been rebuilt )… Great driver that runs like a top. Only 72,983 actual miles. Ex- railroad truck that spent its life running up and down the tracks, has instruction plate, but no wheels for running the tracks ( sorry to all you hazzard boys ) Has new radiator, water pump, brakes, new brake and fuel lines. Completely rebuilt bed with a substantial metal plate floor ready for the toughest thing you can throw into it. Original red paint under primer, all wiring original and proofed with everything working. needs only tires for state inspection. easy to bring to tip top condition or use as is. “1963 Willys Jeep FC-150

This is a rare cab-over style Forward Control Jeep with a 2.3 liter F-head 4-cylinder engine, 3-speed T-90 manual transmission, and two-speed T-18 transfer case. I have a clear Texas title in my name. These unusual trucks draw a lot of attention.

The engine and transfer case have seen no use since being rebuilt and they are out of the vehicle, along with the gearbox (which has not been rebuilt). Radiator is rebuilt. This truck was sold new in the Phoenix, AZ area and remained there with the original owner’s family until I brought it to central Texas about three years ago, so body corrosion is minimal. Brakes are rebuilt with no miles on them. All window glass is good. Comes with new hoses, wiring harness, clutch, pressure plate, brakes, a spare set of doors, rear window glass, bare cylinder head, spare disassembled 3-speed gear box, vacuum brake servo, plus various extra pieces of trim and small mechanical items.

I had begun restoring it but got interrupted shortly after starting the process and I now realize it will be years before I can get back to it. This is an opportunity to do an easy restoration on a very simple vehicle and end up with a rare and prized vehicle at a budget price. Photos in this ad do not show that rear fenders are removed (stored in bed of truck) and that I had begun to remove excessive body filler in both front doors.

You can research this type of vehicle via several websites but the best place to start is probably: www.thefcconnection.com/

Most of these trucks were sold in the snow belt or to government or road construction companies, so most of the survivors are severely rusted or simply were badly abused. Keep this in mind if you are thinking about bidding on one of these on eBay.

Price for vehicle, as is: $5500.00 Vehicle is located east of Austin, a few miles past the Bastrop County line near Utley.

I have other Jeep parts I wish to sell separately:”

It was last used in 1990.Original equipment, 226 six cylinder with 3 speed and Dana 18 transfer case, the cab is over 50 years old, it needs some body work, fortunately it is not rusted out beyond repair, because it was previously painted with house paint. It also needs some flat glass but the windshield is good. It has a rolling chassis, with steering. It does not run, it does not have seats, no radiator, no carburator, or no aircleaner.
It has a matching AZ title. I can sell the rest of what is left, for $1100.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.

I suspect that if you invest $37,500 worth of work and parts this might just be worth $38,500 by the time it is done.

“I have a 1960 FC 150 Jeep for sale. It is a jeep pickup that was produced in the late 50’s and 60’s. FC stands for Forward Control due to the cab being placed over the front wheels. It had a small pickup bed on the back originally. There are FC clubs and forums for these fun rare trucks and a lot of aftermarket parts are available. I also purchased an old military dump bed that is shaped a lot like the original bed and it will be included with the truck along with a 12 volt hydraulic pump. I haven’t done anything with this truck since I purchased it other than storing it and getting a title, so I don’t know the condition of the drivetrain. I didn’t get a front or rear driveshaft with it so I never tried to make it run. The frame is a regular cj type frame other than the weight bolted into the rear for stability so cj driveshafts would work. 4 wheel drive with lockout hubs and a 134 4 cylinder engine.”
