“1952 Willys M38A1 (MD) military Jeep. This is the first year of round fender Jeep and the design would later be used for the civilian CJ5. It is powered by the 134ci “Hurricane” f-head inline 4 cylinder, has a 3-speed t90 transmission, 2-speed transfer case, and 5.38 gears. The powertrain is all period correct but I do not know whether it is original to this particular jeep. The engine runs great, doesn’t overheat, and starts easily in all seasons. Continue reading

1954 M-38A1 Bridgeport, CT $11,000

Nick’s selling this good looking M-38A1 with much of the original lettering.

1954-m38a1-bridgeport-ct5 1954-m38a1-bridgeport-ct6 1954-m38a1-bridgeport-ct7 1954-m38a1-bridgeport-ct8 1954-m38a1-bridgeport-ct9

“This fully functional M38A1 wears its patina with pride. The Jeep was manufactured in 1954 for the U.S. Army and spent its life in Kansas before making its way to the east coast. It still proudly displays its original hood numbers and many of its military-issued markings. It underwent a complete chassis and drive train restoration. The body was removed for over two years, all the while its F134 Engine, 3-speed transmission, 2-speed transfer case, and axles were rebuilt to their original form.

The “A1” still retains its original 24-volt electrical system and all lights including black-out lights work. It runs strong and is a pleasure to drive. There is even an air raid siren mounted to the jeep for added fun when at a car show, parade, or going out for ice cream. The jeep will come with all spare parts, literature, extra jerrycans, a military duffle, and a small non-functioning generator. Asking $11,000. This M38A1 would make a great addition to any collection and turns heads wherever it goes.”

1953 M-38A1 White, GA $5500

This has one of the extended rear bed setups. Seller has a second one (OD Green) that also has one.

“M38A1 it has been extended in rear…. battery box and slave receptical have been deleted.still has original motor and drive train just converted to 12 volt I’m not sure who did the metal work but it was not a back yard bubba job.. someone knew what they were doing and had metal working tools such as a bead roller to do the tool boxes. It was first air force jeep…then marine Corp then owned by fire department. I believe it was extended in the Marine corps or by the fire department I have seen several other Jeeps that look similar. Yes!!! It’s a m38a1 not a CJ!! It still has undercoating from the Marine Corps. All marine jeeps had this. I Have a title.”

“I have up for sale or trade my 1953 US Army M38A1 Willy’s Jeep. The price is $4,000 OBO but that doesn’t mean that there’s a lot of wiggle room on my price. This Jeep has a clear title but hasn’t been registered. As far as trades go I’m mainly interested in anything military style firearms or firearms related in general but feel free to offer what you got. The Jeep isn’t currently running but it does turn over, clutch and transmission seem to work as they should. This Jeep is mostly original with good tires wheels, body pan, and really won’t take a lot of money or time to get it up and running. This is a project that I simply don’t have the time for that’s why she’s looking for a new home. Please, NO LOW BALLERS!! If the ad is still up then it’s still available. May be willing to meet you halfway depending on the distance for the right deal. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please feel free to ask”
