Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Terry notes that this is rough, but there seems there could be value here. Though listed as a 1947, the Lefty setup suggests that the body is from 1948. Note the rare 4-Wheel-Drive branded hubs.

First off, Jeep is in the Nashville TN area. Secondly, sorry for the looong post. Bear with me. I hope this doesn’t come off a “just testing the waters” post, I have wrestled with if I can sell my Willys (notice I said “can” not “if”) . I hate to let it go. Truth is I just don’t have the time to enjoy it anymore. It sits waaay too long between drives and wish list upgrades. I’ve taken it on some mild trail rides, cruises and participated in parades. I didn’t buy this Jeep to park it in a show (it could be) . I love off-roading and it does very well. But it has most definitely not been abused. I’d like to see it go to a fellow enthusiast and Jeep lover.
I’ve had 7 Jeeps and will get another Willys somewhere down the line. I would appreciate it if you held on to your negative comments, I will likely ignore the comment section so if you are really interested you MUST PM me. I repeat, send me a Messenger message on FB Messenger if you want to know more, I can provide a few more pics too. Resto-Mod was done by original owner’s G-son. Worked on in their reputable speed shop in Seattle WA.

“I have a 1947 cj 2a that does run but will need some work. It won’t stay running I think it has a vacuum leak. It has the aluminum half cab with doors. I also have a running 4 cylinder and a parts 4 cylinder to go with it. I also have another jeep body that is in decent shape but needs floors. I have the floors for it just haven’t put them in. “1946 cj2a engine is rebuilt with new cam and lifters, bored with new pistons, crank was turned,valves regroups and everything else that goes with a rebuild. I got this out of a clean dry garage where it had been since 1981. I have all the parts to put it back together that are not in pics. Radiator, generator, starter, carb , full exhaust some of it is new. My next move was to do brakes and engine components. This Jeep has a rare Sears and Roebuck hardtop kit from the 60sinstalled on it. I have two extra engines and some other parts that I will sell after the Jeep goes. Price is $6500. “Don’t have time for it anymore and need shed space. I believe it needs a head gasket. Has oil in coolant. *Engine DOES RUN* Has original hard top and doors and rear hatch, never got around to finish painting them. Has a new T-90 3spd transmission and Kaiser oil filter kit. Have a new carb in box still. Put a new one on last year and accidentally ordered a 2nd. Has ambient lights, grille lights and entry lights. Recently put a tachometer on it as well. New Distributor, Wires and MSD coil. Was 6V, 12V converted. Comes with box of original parts as well. I’m sure I’m forgetting some things. $7000 obo. Price negotiable.”
