Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I’ve worked very hard on this project for four years, but I’m honestly getting burned out. I want to sell it to someone who is as interested as I was four years ago.
I have almost everything new needed to build the jeep minus the fenders… Some is already installed some is in boxes (bought it ahead of time) steering wheel, new clutch, even the broken star stencils with all the lettering. I also have a rear bench seat which is slightly rare.
Frame: new brake system, rotors, rebuild trans. Rebuild diffs, rebuild transfer case.
Body needs sheet metal work. The top is a lot nicer looking than underside. (I have new floorpan and channels).
Engine was stripped bare and painted black.
Shoot me offers! I have about 10k invested, was hoping for at least half. Cash only please. Thank you for looking.”

“1948 Jeep CJ2a for sale by owner (serial # indicates it is actually a 1946 but why argue with the DMV). Runs well and comes with the following: New body, Pertronix electronic ignition, high torque starter, 12V conversion, alternator, key start, rewired, turn signals, recent head gasket, seat belts and front shoulder belts, rear seat, driver windshield wiper (electric), lock out hubs, 11” front brake conversion, rear brakes overhauled and new brake lines installed 5 years ago, Solex carb, rebuilt steering, kingpins replaced, rebuilt transmission, aluminum wheels (4) with radial tires as well as 5 NDT tires with steel wheels and roll bar are the highlights. It has been garaged since I bought it.
Now you are asking what’s wrong with it. It needs a gas gauge and sending unit and the engine smokes a light haze. The last compression check was after head gasket replacement #1-85psi, #2-100psi, #3-90 psi, #4-80psi.”

Had metal hardtop and two non matching doors, never actually ever put on. Was torn apart sanded and repainted before stored. Paint currently in poor shape.
