About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“If it’s listed then it’s still available!! What I have here is a 1946 Willys CJ2A. Have title. It runs and drives and even stops. 4 wheel drive works. I did not cut the hole in the hood for the air cleaner. That’s the way I got it and that’s the way you are going to get it. I was told that it has a newer Jeep motor and it sits higher. That’s why The hole was cut in the hood for the air cleaner. Located in Howell NJ. If you figure out shipping then I will help load it”
“1947 Willys CJ-2A converted into a 12 Volt with a 3 speed T90 transmission. Runs well, has 4×4, tires in great condition. New carburetor and brakes (brakes need to be tweaked) Price includes couple hundred bucks in parts. My son and I bought the Jeep with the intent of restoring it, but he’s joined the service. ”
“‘47 Willys CJ2A with a Kubota v2203 turbo diesel engine swap. I used an Overland diesel swap kit. http://overlanddiesel.com/ It has the stock 3 speed T-90 transmission and Dana 18 transfer case, front lock right locker with locking hubs and an open rear end. Front disc brakes. Everything works and it works well on the roads. You could drive it home but the gears limit top speed. I have a ton of spare parts that will go with it for the right price.”
“1948 jeep cj2a v6 New carburetor, New aluminum radiator.don’t know what engine it is runs great good clutch and Tran stops slowly fresh oil change needs”
“1946 Jeep cj2a Story that came with it this was “The hunting Jeep. Had an engine swap late 70’s early 80’s. Said to have a 350 v8 from a late 60’s early 70’s corvette that had been in a wreck.” Firewall is not cut out.. Very solid.. Little rust.. Engine will need overhauled.. Transmission shifts into gears. Jeep is very much a project. Does not run. Does not drive. Top and doors need reupholstered but frame work is there. Has removable center seat! Needs a new windshield frame and front hubs. This was a running driving unit before it sat in a field for years after original owner/builder passed away. Great start for restoration, needs to go to someone that’ll get to it sooner then I will hate to see it sitting. Trade for aluminum boat or 1962-1973 Ford Truck.”
“Vortec v6, new tires new rims, disk brake conversion up front, transmission tranfer case all new rebuilt ,power steering ,custom aluminum radiador too many things to list must see in person”
“1948 Willy’s CJ2A Flat head 4 “Go-Devil” engine. Starts and runs great. Many of the gaskets replaced. 3 speed manual Trans. 4wd comes with additional Transmission and transfer case coupled with Warner automatic over drive.”
Taar’s selling her father’s CJ-2A. It’s seen some repairs and doesn’t run at the moment. Unclear if the engine spins or not. You can email her at tara.dicken21 @ gmail.com (remove spaces around the @).
“My father recently passed away and left me with several vehicles I am now trying to find homes for. One if these is a 1946 jeep cj3a with a title. It’s not in good shape at all as it has been outside in a barn. Would love for it to go to a good home.”
Glenn spotted this rare and restored Mahl Loader and CJ-2A. There are a ton of detail photos at BaT’s auction page. Note that the serial number used for the title is an engine number and not the original serial number. So, a buyer might want to consider that it your state is extra picky.
“This 1948 Willys CJ-2A is powered by a 134ci Go-Devil inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission and is fitted with a MAHL Jeep Loader attachment produced by Standard Iron & Wire Works Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pair was acquired by the seller around 2010 and subsequently refurbished before installation of the loader in 2016. The truck is finished in black over green vinyl and features white-painted 16″ steel wheels, a fold-flat windshield, a dual-range transfer case, a power take-off unit, a Gre-Sen hydraulic pump, and cab-mounted hydraulic controls. This CJ-2A and Jeep Loader are now offered with an award, articles about the project, and a clean Minnesota title in the name of the seller’s company…..
The factory chassis tag has been replaced with a reproduction unit that shows a blank serial number, and the seller is unable to locate the chassis number on the vehicle itself. The last six digits of the VIN on the title—J172095—are consistent with that of a 1948 Willys CJ-2A.”
“Lots of willys Jeeps parts. 1 mostly complete jeep with broken suspension mounts on the front. The motor on it has ran on starting fluid. Body on it is solid just need frame fixed. Also pictured is another jeep body and frame. The frame has the transmission and transfer case but no motor. The second body is pretty rusted out but is salvageable. Have a box of miscellaneous Jeep parts that will come with the body’s. 800 come get it all. Located in North Mississippi.”
Listed as a 1947 CJ-2A, the body appears to be from a 3A, as it lacks the ignition switch hole on the dash. It also lacks frame horns on the front frame rails.
“1947 Willys CJ2A. Starts, runs, drives, doesn’t stop real well. New master cylinder included. Engine; L4-134 “Go-Devil” Transmission; T-90 Transfer case; Dana 18 Front differential; Dana 25 Rear differential; Dana 41 I have upgraded to 12 volts. New alternator, New battery, new battery cables, new fan belt. I have gotten the title lined out in my name. With new reproduction Serial number plate, new reproduction body and frame tags and a new reproduction dash plate. Also has new in box steering linkage. Will need the wiring played with, lights, ignition switch and such. I have a video of it running on request”
This is listed as a 1949, but is a 1948 based on the serial number. Unclear how much value is here, but it does have a Sears/Allstate-branded deluxe top.
“1949 Willy’s Jeep CJA. Flathead 4 cylinder motor. It has been sitting but the motor moves freely. It’s all there, transmission, radiator, carburator. Would consider trade. DM any questions”
“Any message asking me if it’s available we’ll be deleted. Barn fresh 1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. It needs body work. Engine not stuck. I have been adding automatic transmission fluid to the cylinders over the last 6 months. The vehicle is 95% complete. Also has very rare PTO option in rear. I do have the windshield. An excellent project. $2,500 or best offer”
“STOLEN VEHICLE! Please keep an eye out for this Willy’s Jeep. It was stolen from my father-in-law’s property in Mound House, NV. It has been reported to the local authorities.”
This looks nice, though neither the windshield nor the body have been restored to original. The transmission shifter is on the floor, rather than the column.

“I am selling a 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep. As you probably know, this is the first generation post war civilian Jeep. I bought three of these and am restoring the second one, and have decided to sell this one off. As seen in the pictures, I have a very good, usable front clip for this Jeep, two T-90 transmissions a Dana 18 transfer case and a Dana 44 rear axle (an upgrade if you choose to use it).
The main tub, tailgate and seat frames will need to be replaced. I have purchased two repo Jeep bodies and they work out very well (happy to help you with this process if you decide to buy a new body). Or, you may find a used tub that could be used. As I mentioned, I have restored two of these and have lots of info and resources for parts, etc. I developed a four page spreadsheet just to document the hardware required and where it is used.
