Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has a rear PTO. It runs and drives great, but the rear body panels have been modified.

“1946 Willys CJ2A, no motor but other than that its complete, its got brand new LT235/75R15 RADIAL RVT WILD COUNTRY on nice chrome wheels, new brake master cylinder and wheel cylinders have been replaced with brand new ones. The body is in decent shape with diamond plate rocker panels and rear corner panels. Windshield is in good shape no cracks. Bought it for a project but dont have the time.

Motor does not run, but the fuel pump is thought to be the problem.
“I have a 1948 willys cj 2a jeep with soft top and soft doors. Does not run at this time! Motor does turn over believe to be fuel pump and i have a new one I’ll give ya. Needs work but body and floor pans are in good shape. I DO HAVE A TITLE. I was told the motor and transmission have been recently rebuild do not know if thats true or not but transmission feels tight. Not perfect but for the money and having a title its worth every penny was going to fix it up and drive it around but decided to start on another project instead. asking $1800 make an offer cash talks”

(01/30/2012) I believe this is a column shift CJ-2A with a MB/GPW Grille and windshield. The front end is a bit heavy looking.

Converted to 12 volt, reconditiond head, new valves (10-31-05), complete service, 11″ brakes, new emergency brake shoes, Husky Slective Range Over-Drive (manual included) , good soft top, Tires are almost new including matching spare(never on the ground). All gages work, Turn signals work, Just rebuilt steering bell crank. Trans and Transfer case rebuilt 10-27-92. CJ3A windshield with electric wipers and new arms and blades. Tow bar.

“1946 Willy’s Jeep. This jeep has a four cylinder over head valve engine that has been converted to 12 volt. The motor has been rebuilt but never started. Has been sitting in a garage for 40 years. All of the gauges come with the jeep, they have been removed so they would not be broken. Drive train is in very good condition the front hubs have been replaced. The frame is in very good condition and is not rusted (other than normal oxidation) through anywhere. As you can see the body is pretty rough and needs TLC or a new tub. Comes with 8 rims and tires.”

Given the running gear, there appears to be some value. Not a whole lot though.
“1948 Willys for parts or restoration. Engine/drivetrain all there.(Got engine running for around a min. a year ago and it sounds like it needs an engine rebuild) DOES NOT RUN CURRENTLY. FRAME has crack in it that and looks like a previous owner bolted plates to try to repair frame (see pic). Has passenger seat as well. Floor pans pretty much gone as well as seen in pics.

UPDATE: The blue/red jeep has been for sale since 2009, but the seller is now throwing in the other jeep. Note the desert dog tires. I like the old rims, too.

This looks nice enough, but based on the body and grille, it doesn’t appear to be a 1945 CJ-2a. Note the odd spring behind the driver’s seat in the third picture.
