Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (01/31/2010) This flattie includes an F-head conversion without the usually related hood modification.
“As stated this is my Dad’s Jeep that he is wanting to sell and it is nice… Sweet F-Head conversion (no cutting of the hood – this is slick). Saginaw Power Steering (yes power steering). Over Drive, Tilt Wheel, Rancho Lift with New 31″ tires, Rear Locker, Winch, CB, New top and doors, Candy Apple Paint, This is one of the nicest mildly built early Jeeps out there, no junk and no short cuts.”

It is missing the drivetrain. I can’t tell if this is a VEC or not.

“1947 Willys CJ-2A. Rubicon ready. Buick 225 V6. New 100A chrome alternator. Holley 390 carburetor with electric choke. Electric radiator fan. Power steering, Saginaw 3:1 steering box and tilt steering column.
SM420 transmission, new clutch, T-18 transfer case with Saturn overdrive and new drive shafts. Axles both rebuilt with ARB air lockers and 4.86 gears. Front is a Dana 30 with disc brakes. Rear is a Dana 44 with Warn lifetime warranty axle shafts and locking hubs.
35? tires with 90% tread left. 2 inch body lift and 2 ? inch suspension lift. Bikini Top. Large gas tank, 16 gallons. Removal rack. Alpine CDE-9845 stereo with Aux input 4GB iPod mini included. Midland CB with Firestick antenna.”

“Classic Willys rebuilt 4 cly drives well has overdrive. brakes have been upgraded as well as the sterring. I bought this for my Son but since then he bought a classic truck. What I know starts up every time runs well brakes work well. Very good body the windshield frame and the original seats both available on ebay need tlc. have pink slip and all DMV paper work. (09/30/2010) From the description, you wouldn’t know there’s been a serious modification to this jeep. I’ve seen something similar, but I don’t think it was this one.

I bought it with a project in mind, drove it thru the summer of 2008, and it has been parked ever since. Its time to move on to other projects, so Im moving the Jeep along. Some old desert dogs on the front and old terras on the rear. The rims with the terras look pretty good. Given those additions, I wonder if the drive train was upgraded with anything like posi.

(Apr 4, 2009) My first inclination is that this is an M-38 body due to the cutouts on the passenger side. However, there’s no opening for the gas tank on the driver’s side. So, I’m gonna guess this might be an aftermarket body replacement. There are interesting shutoff valves on the rubber tubing that feeds water towards the heater core. Not sure what they are for. There was an Overdrive with this, but maybe it was sold?

This looks well restored.
“This little girl got her second chance at life. She’s a 48 that was stripped to her frame and redone. There was 14,901 miles on it when I got it, so the motor is untouched and starts right up. I put 152 miles on her so far since I finished her. The body is all Steel!!!! Not a Bondo bucket like a lot of them I’ve seen. I replaced all the rusted areas with the original thickness steel, not the cheap reproduction panels. Seats were redone to original specs. This one was not ordered with a rear seat so the factory plugs are still there! The suspenion has all new shocks, bushings, bolts, brake lines, brakes, everything. She still has her 6 volt electrical system. Now if you are looking for one for the originality this might not be for you. First off you couldn’t get a blue with white wheels jeep in 48. Also, the frame and axels are out of a CJ3B (stronger then the CJ2A), comes with the original axels if you want. And I added turn signals to make the drive easier. I did this jeep to be USED, not a trophy getter, so it is not 100% perfect. Thats why I did the things I did, but she still won best of class at the one car show that I did take it to. I DON’T HAVE TO SELL IT. So no low ballers or tire kickers. I just thought I’d let someone else have fun with it, and I’d start another project. My cell phone number is 1-920-901-6568”
