Here’s an unusually stretched CJ-2A.
“Unique extended body, 18 “ in middle and 18” at rear. Great metal condition (top and bottom) for a 62 yr old vehicle. New brake system(master cyl, lines, hoses, shoes, wheel cyl), stops great, quiet engine runs like a top, 20-40 lbs oil pressure, 7,900 original miles, new gauges, no cracked glass, new OD seat covers, running temp is fine, new head gasket, shifts fine, good clutch, no ‘death wobble’, tires balanced and 4 wheel alignment done June 10th 2010, all gear oils recently changed, tight shifter, 134ci flathead 4 cyl, charged 1942 CO2 US Navy Fire Extinguisher, Replica 50 cal gun with ammo box and dummy rounds, manual windshield wiper, tight steering, horn works fine, all lights work, manual turn signaling by driver, Bikini top, Drives at 45 – 50 mph with no problems, 10 gal fuel tank with manual gauge, Great parade vehicle with rear seating for 6 to 8, tires are 2 years old with a lot of miles left, exhaust system is fine and quiet, Original radiator works perfectly with no leaks and has not been repaired to my knowledge. “48 Cj2 Jeep. Has later F-Head motor completely rebuilt. Holds 45 lbs. oil pressure hot idle. Has had all overlap seams removed. Has some body filler but not much. Has urethane liner on the under side and inside. Mechanically very good.”

The Utah eWillys bureau spotted this crawler for sale.
“I hate to do it but I’m not going to have a place to park my Jeep anymore and need to sell it. I’m looking for 3,700.00 for it.
Specs:
1949 CJ2A with clean title and currently registered and insured until end of this month so a test drive is available.
4.3 Vortec with approx. 78,000 miles out of a 97 Blazer. Runs excellent. 4 core aluminum radiator and electric fan, never overheats.
TH350 tranny which seems to be rebuilt at some point since the fluid is really clean and shifts smooth. Art Carr shifter. Tranny Cooler.
D18 T-case, twin sticks. Leaks a bit even after being resealed.
Dana 44 rear axle out of Wagoneer, 61wms, Aussie locker and 3.73 gears. New seals and bearings.
Dana 44 front axle out of a Chevy, narrowed 62wms, Aussie locker and 3.73 gears.
CNC dual master cylinders.
Power steering with XJ box and factory Chevy pump.
SOA with Superlift CJ2A springs.
Corbeau Moab seats tied to cage with 4pt harnesses.
Converted to 12v with Painless fuse block. Optima red top. Sealed halogen headlights. Cobra CB. Phantom II speedo.
36 14.50 15 Super Swampers with around 25% tread on black steel wheels.
Included is a tow bar and tow lights so you can flat tow it.
Longer shocks included, just need hoops built.

Here’s a nicely restored jeep, but I see nothing to indicate this is a ’45 or a ’46. The serial number puts it as a ’47. It is actually titled as a 1942.
“This example is one of the earliest CJ-2A Jeeps built by Willys in 1945. It was restored about 10 years ago. During the restoration, it was decided that this example would be painted to resemble a pre-1945 military Jeep and painted the appropriate military color with military numbering. Also, the spare tire was moved to the rear of the vehicle (military Jeeps had rear mounted spare tires, civilian Jeeps had side mounted spare tires). It should be noted that while this vehicle is a 1945, it is titled as a 1942. The VIN number is 106459 and is located on the original VIN tag on the firewall which also designates the model as a CJ 2A. The mileage indicated is approximately 21,000, however, like most vintage cars, there is no way of guaranteeing if this is original …”

This is the 2nd beautiful restoration from Vista I have seen. The first one is posted here. The seller is as meticulous regarding the description as he is on the restoration itself!
“Background on VEC #14,513 – During the past seven years I have restored four 1946 CJ2A jeeps to original condition. This jeep is by far the best and is the rarest of the four. It also represents my last jeep restoration project. I work at the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park and my first restoration of a CJ2A is being used in a trained animal show there every day. I had so much fun, with this project that it got me started restoring them for fun. #14,513 is my best restoration and I expected it to be my “keeper”.
As far as I can trace the history, except for the last year before I purchased it, when it was in Oregon, this jeep is a California native (at least for the last 50 years, when the ownership trail went cold). It has no rust. In the 1950’s it was owned by Phil’s Garage in Torrance, California. It was set up to tow vehicles back to the shop. It was impeccably maintained by the garage mechanic, who I never met, but whose workmanship and attention to detail 50 years ago, I still admire today.
This jeep has matching serial numbers on the firewall, dash and left front frame horn. Behind the column shifter, is the T-90 transmission. The column shift option was dropped early in the first year of production (at around #30,000), because the GIs returning home from the war preferred the floor shifter transmission like the ones they were used to driving in their various theaters of operation. For this reason, there are very few, original equipment, column shift VECs left ….”

(11/18/09) The Vin number would make this produced in 1948. This looks like a nice rebuilt.
“ I am selling my CJ2A. This has been recently restored. Body was removed and repainted. Color is maroon. Black undercoat on the body to help prevent rust. Restoration did not include mechanical. Vehicle had a partial 12V conversion when I got it. It now has all new wiring. All lights work. Added turn signals and brake lights. Horn works. Starter is 12V. It uses a borg warner 6V coil; but could easily be changed to 12V coil. Jeep would be street legal if you add the windshield; the seals for the windshield are included in sale. It didn’t need the motor or drivetrain rebuilt. Although I did paint the engine and rebuild the carburator. New gauges except for speedo.”
