“I’m moving in a couple of months and am looking to sell my 1959 Willy’s Jeep, model CJ3B. Rust free, with a four inch lift, new Ground Hawg 6 ply tires (14/35/15). The engine is a 231 Buick V6 with Heddman Headers. The Jeep comes with a vinyl top and original seat frames that have been re-upholstered, the tool box is also in excellent shape.”

“Unrestored, original 26K miles, 1955 Willy’s CJ3B Jeep.  The original owner was a doctor who bought the jeep as a hunting rig in 1955. The second owner purchased it for the same purpose, hunting. He had his mechanic look it over prior to each season. 3-4 years ago he stopped hunting and parked it. As a precaution, I oiled the cylinders and it turned freely. I bought it intending to restore it, but find I do not have the time. I was told it needed brakes. It has 16″ military tires on it which are in good condition. Tow bar is included. I am asking 3,000.00 O.B.O. No e-mails.”

The images are a bit tiny to tell much.  I’m not a big fan of the paint job, but other than that this might not be a bad price.

“1953 CJ3B Navy Jeep. Still has Navy ID and information tag on the dash. Jeep is in fantastic mechanical condition. It is currently titled & licensed and I drive it daily. Does not use oil or smoke. Motor and drive train work flawlessly except for 2nd gear. Like 75% of old jeeps, it pops out of 2nd gear when decellerating. Odometer only shows 2870 miles and it works, but I can not verify that those are the correct miles. Brakes stop it straight and fast. All turn signals and lights work. Has been converted to 12volts. Has 4 new military type non directional tires on 16″ stock rims. The spare is a newer 16″ rough tread on a split rim wheel. All guages work. Has lock out hubs & a tow bar. The seller lists this as a 1953 GB2.  I thought that was a mistake until I did a search and discovered that this probably means this jeep is part of the second round of serials numbers for CJ-3Bs.  In other words, it’s a pretty early CJ-3B.

“1953 Willys GB2. B style so room for new engine. 12 Volt System. Valve stuck in the original flat head. Tranny, lock outs, and diff good shape. Good wheels and tires. I don’t have time to rebuild. Great project. Licensed as collectable. $2,995 or BO.”

“Just prior to this sale all systems of this Jeep were gone through by a professional mechanic who made sure everything is working perfectly.  This work included a new turn signal switch and a new electric windshield wiper motor on the driver’s side.  The passenger side has the original hand operated windshield wiper. ….  The drive train is all original and in very good working condition. I’m just not sure what this is, but the pinto engine + header might not be a bad price.

I’m pretty sure that’s not the original windshield.  It looks almost like a CJ-2A windshield.  Also, while most of the body appears in good shape, the rear interior is pretty rough.

“This is a 1956 Willys CJ3B Jeep that is in great shape for its age. Drives nice, sounds great and starts right up. This would make a great restore project for someone or a great off-road vehicle as it will climb anything in 4 wheel drive. Transmission works very well. It does need some work on the wiring and the windshield is not a perfect fit. There are a few scrapes on the paint but the body is in amazing shape for the year it is. Apparently, this vehicle resided in California for most of its life. The title is clear and has a NC title as it GA you do not need a title for a vehicle older than 62….”

It appears someone got a good deal on a parts jeep or project.  This sold very quickly.

“The Good – 53 willys Jeep, late 60’s Olds V-6 motor – the motor and drivetrain seems tight and good. It is complete, was driven until 2000. Will need to be thoroughly checked out after being parked for so long. Rollbar is in good shape. Have the original owners Oregon Title, I got the vehicle from her son when I bought his house. The bad – no keys, the throttle pedal needs to be re-attached to floorboard, did I mention the brakes – need rebuild. Kids shot the windshield glass w/BB gun 2×3 times, tires are OLD, will probably need a distributor. It needs seats, the old seats are trashed. It has some cancer, but the diamond plate covers it well.”

This is nicely ‘restored’, but there is some customization.  The body is an aftermarket body and the builder added a few modern updates to the dash, including the radio.  It appears to have a nice PTO setup.

UPDATE:  Status unknown. The price had dropped to $2500.  The seller included an overdrive with the cj3b.

The license plates suggest this jeep is from Colorado, though I don’t have any record of this being for sale recently.  It looks pretty solid.

This has some good upgrades (toploader 4 speed, Overdrive, tilt steering, 11″ brakes).  I think this might be a pretty good price if the body is in good shape (which appears to be the case).
