“1953 Willys CJ3B, rare / unique High Hood model jeep. Body is very good. Frame is very good. On road / off road hobby project. Don’t call expecting perfection, this is a work in progress. Have completed lot’s of work to it. 302 V-8 engine runs, & sounds good.
Three speed transmission, dual exhaust, headers. Lock-out hubs. Tires are not good, but nice aluminum rims. Have been completing shade-tree bodywork and paint. Military OD green at this point, looks good from 10′.
Overall, jeep needs little more TLC. No top, no doors. ( Period gas can and gas can holder can be purchased separately for $125.00). (Period Army footlocker for tool storage in back, can be purchased separately for $65.00). (9,500 lb. winch with wired remote can be purchased separately for $500.00).
New parts: brake shoes, wheel cylinders, some brake lines, thermostat, headlights,Optima Red Top battery, manual choke, Reese hitch receiver.
Racing seats installed. Rhino liner applied to interior. Floorboards cut out and replaced.
Buyer could take the jeep body off and replace it with an early Bronco body, which would probably double it’s value, then sell the jeep body or put it on a jeep frame / drive-train..”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(07/18/2015) Looks like a solid jeep with some useful updates.
“1953 Willys CJ3B. Lots to list but I’ll hit the highlights. There is a complete parts list to go with the jeep. Has a Ford 289 V8 from late 60s Mustang. Ford 3 speed transmission, dana 18 transfer-case to 5:38 gears in back and up front. Motor does NOT burn oil, sounds good, and runs strong. Has power steering, hydraulic clutch, upgrade master cylinder on firewall, hanging pedals on inside. Has 2 gas tanks… one under driver as normal, and one under rear floor with filler out the back. Lifted 3 inches. Please see pictures. Great jeep and fun to cruise town in, but will crawl anywhere you want to go. Well taken care of.
E-mail is best, I will be in and out of town, but will get back to you ASAP if you e-mail.”

“Hello, up for sale is my 1954 CJ3B. I bought it with the intention of rebuilding it but I just don’t have the time or money right now. Also we are expecting a little one soon so the Willys has to go. I have recently done a valve adjustment, replaced plugs, wires, ignition coil, fuel line, fuel tank, gauges, condenser and points. Rebuilt the carb a few weeks ago. The jeep runs drives and stops. Compression is pretty good. Fresh oil change and fluid change in differentials Trans and transfer case. I also picked up a replacement hood and fenders that were in better shape than the originals. Still have original hood and fenders.
It still has the original F-134 hurricane motor, Dana T-90 3 speed trans, and Spicer 18 transfer case. Dana 44 rear and 27 up front with 5.38 gears.
When I got the jeep a few months ago it didn’t run and I got it together pretty quickly. This would be a great project for someone, but I just can’t afford it right now. I will post some photos soon. If you are interested please call or send me a text and I will send you some photos. Currently the jeep is licensed and insured. I have a clean title in hand.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.

“I’m looking for a new home for my 1953 Willys. My wife and I brought it here in 2013 as a fun weekend toy, but it’s just not getting the LOVE it deserves. We just don’t use it enough as we should and so it’s time to pass it on to someone who can really enjoy it. It’s a great Jeep, it’s been so much fun, I hate too see it go, but it’s time.”
The top seems to fit oddly.

“WILLYS JEEP CJ3B 1956
For sale is a barn find 1956 Willys Jeep CJ3B. The body has been redone several years ago and is still very solid. It has been inside stored for the last 10 years. Motor is a 134 F head 4 cylinder and runs very well. Transmission shifts great with no issues. The 4wd works as it should. The frame is in very good condition. Comes with a matching spare tire and wheel (not shown). That is not sheet metal on the sides of the body its just an ugly foil someone put on it. The windshield is plexiglass and needs to be replaced with a glass one. The brakes do not work and some rewiring will be necessary. This would be a very nice Jeep to restore because it is very complete or just fix it up and play with it. It has a clear Michigan title.”

UPDATE: Price dropped to $3000.
It’s listed as a 1950.
:Up for sale is a 1950’s Willys CJ3A – it’s had an interesting life I’d imagine….pulled it off a farm in Colorado, cleaned her up and got life back into this cool 1950’s Willys.
Interesting factoids about this Willys:
-clean Colorado title
-high back seats from modern car / truck – original gas tank was removed and replaced with remote tank (poly) in tailgate area – bracing for new seat prohibits proper fitment for original tank.
-AMC 195.6 Engine – straight 6 cylinder engine that runs good
-Ramsey winch (DCB200) on heavy duty front bumper – untested
-diamond plated dash (original dash is underneath)
-only gauges to speak of are oil pressure, temp, and amps. NO speedo, no fuels gauge.
-no chips or cracks in windshield
-no wipers or blinkers
-carb (Holley single barrel) was resealed and runs but could use additional tuning.
-12 volt conversion done
-Oil changed, radiator flushed and refilled
-brakes fluids bled but could use additional work / service
-50 caliber ammo can and gas can added for flavor
-good stout roll bar – NO tops, bikini or doors included
-been repainted several times and probably will get at least one more coat of paint in its lifetime. That said it does have a cool blue patina to it.
-rust? yes some here and there..signs of repair at fenders
-all tires hold air but they are on the older side for sure.
-parking lights work but headlights and brake lights do NOT.
One cool Willys. Know that this is a 50+ year old vehicle that has had a very basic “once over”. If you are looking for a highway commuter, this is not your car. If you want a fun weekender, trail master (some day) and can turn a wrench this is a great candidate….
Comes as seen with no additional parts… I guess I forgot to add that I DONT need help selling, I probably won’t sell it to a Saudi Prince or a friend of a friend who wants to make 25.00 per month payments in pennies.”
It looks like this has some carpet.
