Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Working out of state has made it impossible for the owner to finish. The cab and chassis has a used v6 engine, front and rear end. The trans. is a 350 turbo rebuilt with truck internals. The transfer case is a Dana 300 rebuilt. The springs are new. The wheels and tires are used, but there is a new set of wheels. There is also a Buick rebuilt long block and rebuilt Dana 44 front and rear Axles. The front has a Detroit locker and Warn hubs. Two pallets of parts used and new. Selling as parts/ project w/ title.

“1962 CJ5 with 4 cylinder F-Head. It has been in a storage building for the last 10-15 years. I have a 1963 just like it and I had originally planned on restoring this one to have two matching ones. Unfortunately I don’t see that ever happening with all my other hobbies I have. It really needs to have a brand new tub from 4wd.com put on it. Frame isnt too bad for the year. It does run. It does have a plow. Needs restoration, so no tire-kickers”

“I am the third owner of this jeep. The jeep has a clear CA title. The jeep has a unique feature with the addition of a 120 volt power outlet bank run by a fan belt driven dedicated generator mounted above the regular 12 volt generator. The jeep runs well, the brakes master and wheel cylinders, brake shoes and brake lines have been replaced. The steering box has been rebuilt. The tires are weather checked but have good tread. Under dash instruments have been added and it has a CB radio installed by a previous owner. Body is in good shape and it has an older vinyl top with doors, but the rear door window/panel has shrunk, but still works with gaps between the rear of the sides zippers but attaches to the footman loop on the tailgate.”
This early, low-mileage CJ-5 looks solid, though it has a bit of damage on the rear driver side panel.

(11/01/2022) Here’s a chance to take your significant other on a romantic trip to the coast and do some jeep shopping! This looks like a pretty bone stock CJ-5, though a sticker on the dash suggests it has a Spicer Power Lok differential (in the back?). It also comes with a winch and a Koenig hardtop. It does have a little floor rust.

Bill spotted this rare CJ-5/Camper for sell. It’s listed as a 1966, but that seems to be an error given the large grille lights, which made their appearance in 1969, as did the camper.
