Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This 1975 Jeep CJ-6 is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a twin-stick transfer case, power steering, and a black roll cage, soft top, and doors in addition to a Rough Country 9,500-lb winch, a Summit Racing electric fuel pump, and AutoMeter auxiliary gauges. The truck is finished in matte blue over tan vinyl upholstery and work since 2015 is said to have involved rebuilding the 232ci inline-six and replacing the power steering pump and lines along with the steering stabilizer, leaf springs, and shock absorbers. Acquired by the seller in 2020, this CJ-6 is now offered at no reserve with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.”

“1967 Jeep CJ6 model and is pretty much original. Has the 4 Cylinder with the T98 four speed with a rear facing PTO output. Has a warn winch from the 80’s up front and the original Jeep hardtop. I am the third owner of it and have only added a new fuel tank to it and a BDS 2.5” spring lift with new shocks. Outside of that it is untouched since last owner. I have both the original Willy’s wheels as well as the cj5 renegade wheels that go with it. Runs and drives good just not fast. Issues I know of that it has: Surface rust on driver floor. Passenger door needs to be tinkered with can only be opened from inside. Rear seat is not on original brackets and needs cove Need to file for lost Title as previous owner lost it and I have never taken the time to go take care of it. Have all paperwork (registration and maintenance) from two previous owners dating back to 1977.”

(12/28/2023) If you are seeking a stock, clean CJ-6, this might be worth a look. Given the 0-9 KS Speedometer, this might be a fairly early 1st-year CJ-6.

“1966 Jeep CJ6
3 years since body-off resto mod. The CJ6 is a 20” stretch of the CJ5 body tub and is the predecessor to the CJ8 Scrambler.
Buick Dauntless V6 (rebuilt 2019, bored 0.030 over, decked, hardened valve seats installed with valve job on head rebuild) Advance Adapters headers/dual glasspacks/3” chrome turnout tips.
Borg Warner T86 3-speed manual plus Warn Overdrive (makes it a 6 speed)
Twin-stick Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 27 and 44 axles, 4.88 gears.
Custom-fabricated power steering conversion using GM Saginaw gearbox. Bed liner paint job in 2019 since the body was fairly rough from its former life. Color matched the OEM “President Red” paint.

“Grandma bought this Jeep brand new in 1966. Always has run great. Has not been started in several years. Been garaged for the last year. Comes with USMC trailer and couple sets of wheels and tires. Plan was to restore to original, but just never seem to get a good start, so time to turn over to someone else.”

“Very original with new paint and zero rust. Dauntless Buick V6 and 3 speed transmission. The Jeep runs and drives great. I got so far with the restoration and ran out of steam so there are just a few things left to do,like resealing the transfer case and new exhaust gaskets along with other minor details. “1967 Jeep CJ-6 with Perkins diesel engine. All original and minimal rust compared to most CJ’s of this vintage. Very rare Perkins diesel engine runs but will need rebuild. It will run but smokes excessively and is low on power. Injection pump and injectors have been rebuilt. Production numbers suggest that less than 600 CJ-6’s were built with the Perkins engine. The body and floors have rust in all of the typical locations but is not a total rust bucket. Please be familiar with the rarity of this Jeep before you criticize the asking price. Clear Pennsylvania title included. All low ball offers will be ignored.”
