“RARE 1961 Jeep Willy CJ6 with Trailer”
It’s a project & it RUNS!
“1962 Willys Jeep CJ6 Runs. Decent tires. Do not know the actual mileage and on the title the odometer section is left blank. Obviously needs some work. This is not at my home so I would have to travel to view the jeep. Instead I have tried to take many pictures and hope that gives the information that you need. However, if it doesn’t please contact me and I will try to answer your questions. I do have clear title. If you or a mechanic would like to look at it please let me know so we can make that arrangement.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This jeep includes an overdrive. It appears to be in good shape. It has a nicely made front bumper that includes a trailer hitch mod.
“Original 1961 Willys CJ-6, engine: 4 cylinder, 4 wheel drive; Parts Included: hanging pedals, saginaw power steering box and pump, warn overdrive, 11″ brake drums (complete), 4 scout steel wheels, clear title, newer bestop included; ENGINE RUNS GREAT! Age and health force sale”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500
This looks in great shape and includes a Warn OD and a winch. The top looks excellent. I’d say this is a good price, except for that bad piston.
“Stock Running Gear, F Head 134 ci, T 90, T 18 transfercase with Warn OD. Have Bad piston in the jeep. Have new moter, if I install price goes up. Newer Best top, good seats. New Wipers. Great hunting Jeep. 101″ wheel base so rides nice and lots of room inside. I would keep but have too many jeeps and Wife says sell one. These jeeps are pretty rare the Forest Service only bought these a couple years, notice flat top fender wells on back. Would be a real nice restoration project, or just drive it and enjoy.”
I like this CJ-6.

So, now you know how much junk can be crammed into the back of a CJ-6!
“I have a 1961 Willy CJ-6 Jeep for sale. It starts and runs but smokes. Body is in fair shape it is the cj-6 not the cj-5 that only means its about a foot longer other then that it is the same as a cj-5. It has a 4 cylinder F head motor and a three speed munsie transmission. I’m asking 2500 firm. I have a clear title”
This 1961 CJ-6 hybrid appears in pretty good shape. But what inspired the design? Rust in the body maybe? Maybe something in the water in Maine?
“61 Willys CJ6 Custom Jeep Narrowed Down 23″, Wheel Base is 77” Runs Great! Willys 4 Cylinder 3 Speed, Soft top $2,000. “
This is a good price for nice looking CJ-6. They aren’t too easy to find.

This would make a good parts CJ-6.
“it is a 1961 willys jeep, it has original motor that was overhauled, and needs put back in, it needs a lot of fixing, would be great project for someone who likes to restore vehicles.”
I’m not sure I’ve seen any other CJ-6s for sale with the original 6 volt wiring.
“Restorable cj6. It starts, it drives, and it stops. F head 4 cylinder believe to be original engine has had new valve job new points, condenser, rotator and cap, spark plugs and wiring. 6 volt system please call 406-781-9284 more pics available upon request”

It’s hard to find a running CJ-6 under $2k, let alone at $1k. Of course, the ad doesn’t say it’s running, but I can always hope.”
It’s priced a bit high for a non-running vehicle. While the body looks straight, it appears there have been a few changes, such as the rear bumper for example. Also, by 1961 were these still running split windshields?
“We have too many projects and not enough time, so its time to clear some space. This is a factory extended body, 304 AMC V8 rebuilt a few years ago but never ran, 4 speed tranny, NOT in running condition at this time, needs some work, No rust or bondo body is straight, and a clear/clean title. We may be open to trades for a running 4X4, hay, or ATV’s”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was priced at $2500.
“I am selling my 76 CJ 6. Runs great 258, t-3, Dana 44 rear, Power Steer. Lots of new parts, clean OR title, new tune up. Hard top, hard doors. Not abused, straight frame, some rust 2500.00”
1956 is the second year of production, where 2500 were made. During the first year, only 581 were produced. So, this is a pretty early model. Looks in good shape. These don’t come for sale very often.
“Straight-no rust * Runs Great *134 CI 4-cyl * All new Painless Wiring *New Gauges *New Tires *New Shocks *New Battery *Clean Royal Craftsman Removable Top and Doors **In the city or in the country-its a blast to drive”
“very rare 1965 tuxedo park mark IV. there was only 459 of these jeeps ever produced and this model is the original long bed of jeeps. It has a very strong v-6 engine with 99,150 miles on it and it also has an extra gas tank for those long backcountry trips. The four wheel high and low work perfectly and the front lockers turn very smoothly.”
No pics or price. It's a project.
