“Jeep Dj3a front and rear axle. Rear Dana 30, front 2wd beam axle. Drum brakes. 4 lug 15” wheels and tires. Pick up Reese Mi.”
The side vent on the passenger side suggests this is 1959 or later.

“Willys DJ3a, not sure of year. Has 13″ 4 lug wheels i believe came that way from factory. Looks like it has a heater. comes with extra hood. No engine, rolls and steers. No data plates. Been in barn for 25 years.”
There may be some parts value here, but it lacks an engine and transmission. The body appears to have potential.

“1963 CJ3B excellent frame, good drive train, postal body, lifted, aluminium wheels, good tires, engine good but not running, need shop space. May trade for skid steer attachment”
This has no title. Given the radiator and the transmission crossmember mount (just visible in one pic), this is likely a DJ-3A convertible body on a CJ-2A chassis.

“Trade OBO NO TITLE!!! We got it thinking of restoring it due to it having many good parts but decided not to due to not having time. Would like to trade for a motorcycle or best offer for it.”
The seller doesn’t mention that this is 2WD.

This is a pretty good price on this rare DJ-3A brochure from no W-301-6. I thought I had posted the version of the form that I have, but apparently I didn’t. So, I’ll include the pics from this eBay auction and update them with better pics from my brochure at a later date.

“This is an ORIGINAL brochure, NOT a reprint
It is in GOOD condition with some very light shelf wear to the covers. Interior pages are CLEAN
It is a 4 PAGE color FOLDER that measures 8 3/4″ x 10 1/2″”
This hardtop has the small back window, so it’s an early DJ-3A top.

(02/15/2023) To me, this looks to be a DJ-3A body. It’s possible between the year listed (1953) and the CJ-3B windshield that someone put a DJ body on a CJ-3B. I think the dash may have been skimmed with a thin piece of metal.

“1953 Willys Jeep. Title in hand. Has motor does not run been sitting a while. We do have the back seat too. Motor is a 327 V8. Asking $4,000 obo. Located in Gila Bend Az.”
This press release package is currently at $29.50 with three days to go. It’s unclear if this is a complete press kit or a partial one (seems partial to me given there is only one photo). The date on the photo suggests this kit may have been release September 16, 1959.
What’s interesting to me is that the 2-page document on the left is one of the few documents create by Willys Motors that explains that the new Surrey is the name of the model released domestically and that the Gala is the export name, though no explanation is given for the difference.

Here is the document I mentioned. See the last sentence on the second page for the link between the Surreys and Galas>
This is caption for the photo. Note the date at the lower left hand corner 9 16 59.
This DJ-3A converted to 4WD looks like a good price. Tom spotted it.

This is a mix of parts, including a DJ-3A body, a CJ-2A windshield and an M-38 grille. The chassis might be DJ-3A as well.

Jordan was sent additional pics of this one and confirmed it is a DJ-3A convertible that has had 4WD added. The windshield is definitely from a convertible.

(11/09/2022) Listed as a CJ-2A body on a CJ-5 chassis, the body looks more like a DJ-3A. Has an unusual color scheme; It kinda works for me.

UPDATE: Roger Jordan posted this rare photo of a DJ-6A concept vehicle on Facebook. It reminds me of the Dispatcher-100 and Sportif models, so I’ll add it to this page
===========================
Originally posted April 8, 2019:
As most folks know, Brooks Stevens was instrumental in numerous production and concept car designs. One of the lesser known projects was, apparently, an offshoot of the DJ-3A 2WD line. There are four documented designs, two of which became concept vehicles.
Dispatcher 100: Derek Redmond published a slightly different version of this concept at the CJ-3B page. It’s titled the Dispatcher 100 (has an insignia with the name on the passenger door) and it may represent a slight update or next evolution of the “Dispatcher” above. The cover on the passenger side cowl suggests this might have been made from the later model DJ-3A body (which used the hole for a heater vent).
UPDATE: Still Available.
(11/09/2022) I have to say I was more curious about the Sand Jalopy Hot Rod than the jeep. The jeep seems to have a DJ-3A body. Neither seems to have much value.
