“This 1943 Ford GPW Jeep was acquired by the seller two years ago from a previous owner who reportedly used it in parades and other gatherings. The truck is finished in Olive Drab Green and fitted with black vinyl seats, a roll bar, a tow bar, a receiver hitch, and a folding canvas top. Power comes from a 134ci L-head inline-four paired with a T90 three-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
This has seen some mods. Was used under a parade float. It was lengthened at some point.

(02/01/2019) Mike spotted this GPW.

“Here is a 1944 Ford GPW. Hopefully if you are reading this, you know what you are looking at. I bought this sight unseen from a farmer’s estate in Wyoming. It is literally a barn find and had to be removed from the upper part of the barn with a forklift. I had it shipped across the country to NC and it sat for a couple years. I own a private restoration shop and recently got around to looking at what turned out to be a Ford GPW. The vehicle was clearly used on the farm and has had extra holes drilled into the sides and almost looks like they were using it to haul rocks? There are more dents in the tub than rust. The farmer reinforced the front bumper and had brackets for farm implements. It has a tow hitch on the front as well.
The Ford was “hot rodded” out in the 1960s and a Studebaker OHV straight 6 was installed with a T90 transmission. The front axle has Dualmatic locking hubs. From some light research it seems like this engine was made in 1961 and appears to have the original fan belts. I have no idea of the condition of the engine and it is missing the intake. The Goodyear Power Cushion whitewall tires have date codes from the 1960s, which is when the Ford was stored in the barn. It has not been driven in over 50 years. Those 50+ year old tires have tubes in them and still hold air and have tread. The spare appears to be the original “US” marked.
UPDATE: Price dropped to $14,500:

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5800.
The price seems reasonable on this mix-of-parts jeep. It has a GPW body. Given the hood bump, it might have an f-head, too.
1941 Willys “Jeep.” A true American hero. She served in WW II and was dissembled and then reassembled to serve again in the Korean War. She is titled as a 1941 but appears to have parts through the Korean War as was common for military Willys. She runs but is 79 years old. Her 4wd will take you anywhere. Please do not bid or buy if you do not intend to complete the sale. I have recently downsized my house and no longer have the space for this historical vehicle.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $16,000.
This GPW came from the Bernstein Bros, a company that began as a steel recycler in Pueblo. The business became successful and branched in various direction. Owner Morey Bernstein became famous as an amateur hypnotist and writer.
“In 1952 my Father and myself purchased this Jeep from Bernstein Bros a farm and ranch supplier in Pueblo, Colorado. Bernstein Bros purchased several islands in the Pacific after WWII and brought items back as salvage. Not sure but feel this vehicle was in the Pacific. My Father was a master restorer of old vehicles and rebuilt the engine during the winter of 52-53 and made any repairs necessary. The Jeep is titled Ford and has all F bolts but the engine says Jeep on it. The Jeep is almost stock and the only changes that were made was the addition of push plates on the front bumper and a tow bar. Also lockout hubs were added an altitude meter in the dash was installed and an electric fuel pump. I never found the shovel and the axe that mounts on the drivers side. I have all of the owners manuals that came with it.
In 1953 the Jeep was moved to our summer home in South San Juan mountains just south of Alamosa, Colorado and has been kept there in a garage for the last 67 years. The odometer now shows around 43,000 miles and it had many of them before the overhaul. Our summer home is only accessible in the summer and we use the Jeep for hunting and fishing during the summer months only.
I will be able to get back to our cabin by early May to retrieve the Jeep and it will be available then. The Jeep runs very well and has been used but never abused. It does need a wheel alignment there is a little shimmy at 30 MPH.”
UPDATE: Still Available.

(01/20/2020) This appears to be a 1950 CJ-3A with an MB/GPW body on it. It also has some Husky/Allstate hubs and what I think is a Con-Ferr rear bumper.
