“You are bidding on a 1942 Ford GPW. This is a very early production script “FORD” jeep with a serial number of “I7743″ which would put it around April of 1942. The jeep does run, drive, and stop from an auxiliary fuel can. The jeep does have a clear Idaho title that matches a vin that was stamped in the cowl.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $900

The tires on this look unusual.

“This is a ’41-’45 World War II jeep body on a CJ2A chassis. I’m pretty sure the body is a Ford GPW. No title. I have the rolling chassis with the body, fenders, hood, windshield frame, and grill. No engine, but the T90A trans, transfer case, and axles are there. The It has four really good old Armstrong Norseman 33-inch tires, cool for those of you I to vintage ‘wheeling. Body is average. Minimal rust, has some bondo. The tire tubs have been notched for more seat clearance, but I have patches cut from another Jeep. Must go, no more storage. OBO. I may start to part it out, so let me know what you need.”

UPDATE: Was $9500. **Status Unknown**

This has a Buick V6 in it.

“This is an original World War II Ford GPW (Willy’s MB) Jeep. The ford serial number is 94524 and was delivered to the U.S. Government on 1-21-43 (January 21st, 1943). The Army issue number is 20202246. It has been generally restored top to bottom, runs perfectly, and is mostly comprised of original parts. It has clear current title, starts with ease, runs beautifully and is simply a pleasure to both own and drive.

I originally discovered the Jeep in New Mexico several years ago. The tub and majority of the parts had little to no rust when I had the jeep sand blasted. Of particular note is that both the original WWII frame and original WWII data plate have the matching serial numbers 94524 (the frame stamp is faded but can still be read). Additionally, the tub (body) is genuine WWII manufactured by Ford with various “F” stamps throughout the body which add to its uniqueness.

Here is a rundown of his work I had done- It has a new battery, new gauges, brakes totally taken apart cleaned, inspected and rebuilt, brake lines, fuel lines, oil lines and wiring harness were all replaced with the best available in the last several years. Most of the Jeep was dismantled, stripped, repaired where needed, repainted and re-assembled. I did not remove the motor or transmission. The tires are vintage reproduction and correct to period. I added saftey belts and turn signals for safety.

The engine is a post war 70’s engine which I actually prefer as these engines are far more reliable and easier to maintain. I purposely did not replace the engine with a reproduction for I wanted to travel more than 45 MPH. The originals only traveled that fast and were shaking apart at that. I can easily merge with traffic and travel on the highway at 60-70 MPH with no problems.

Additional accessories include-

-U.S. WWII full Size Infantry Axe
-Original U.S. WWII dated gasoline can
-Garand/Thompson rifle rack on inside of windshield.
-New old Stock Side straps

There may be other WWII Jeeps on the market but very few that run as well and have as many authentic vintage parts. The Jeep was in service until 1957 where it was sold at auction. The Jeep has some changes to it as made at the TMP since it served during the Korean War era as well. I have the advertisement where it was sold in Texas. If you ever wanted a WW2 Jeep this is the one!”

“Military 1942 Ford GPW Jeep needs new home. The man I purchased this from 6 yrs ago had started the restoration. He had purchased new seat frames, spare tire carrier, rear floor, toll box floors, and tailgate panel. He had tacked everything in place but the rest of the welding needs to be finished. He had also rebuilt the motor which was setup for 12v. The jeep needs a lot of work to finish but everyone needs another project. Except me. The motor serial number does not match but is a gpw motor. Does still have the original data plates and a lot of good parts. $2700.00 call Kent 214-two 32-0 one74”

This looks solid.

“1943 Ford GPW Military Jeep. 4 on the floor, 4wd works great. fun little vehicle for car shows, parades, or driving around. It was originally built in the Ford plant in Louisville, KY. I am willing to work with price I just need to sell. I can provide more information but please do not waste my time. The engine has been overhauled, valves have been hardened so you can use regular unleaded pump gas without any damage to the engine or worry about the hassle of mxing special fuel with a lead block. I can take more pictures just ask. Really good condition. I have this posted in Louisville section as well.”

1942 MB/GPW Allison Reconditioned Gustine, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB), MB, Ordnance - Remanufactureing This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

It’s not a great specimen, but this jeep was one of a couple thousand jeeps reconditioned/remanufactured by the Allison Steel Manufacturing Corporation. Learn more about the remanufacturing program here.

“Im listing this jeep for a friend: Very Rare March 1942 Ford GPW World War 2 Jeep. This one is very interesting because its a WW2 Willy’s MB frame stamped GPW 6559. As you can tell by the number its early for a WW2 Jeep. And the date plates on the glove box match the frame numbers of GPW 6559. There is a Reconditioning Date plate on the center of the dash saying that it was reconditioned in Phoenix Arizona on February 1945!

The engine is out of a M38A1 and runs well from what we can tell. It was reconditioned by Ralph’s Machine Shop from San Jose, Ca. in December 1976. The transmission is a MB T84. It don’t shift do to 1 tooth broken off. The inside of the transmission looks very clean. The transfer is a Ford GPW marked.

The front seats are in excellent condition and are “F” marked and so are the fenders(no rust on fenders) and some other bolts on the jeep because its a GPW body. Floors have rust by don’t look too bad. Data Plates are original, one is steel and the others are brass. Rear of body is skinned, original sheet metal is still underneath. Gauges are original except for the temperature gauge. Steering box is “F” marked. We believe it has a M38 gas tank? Front window frame in great shape, inner is in good shape except for the inner center bar which can be easily replaced. Brake system is dry, no fluid. Front and rear of frame need work near the bumpers. Please check out the pictures.

He was planning to restore it but already has one he is working on. One of the Outstanding things about this jeep is the low serial numbers of 6559 and the MB frame stamped GPW! Meaning Ford used Willys frames at the factory. And that the data plates match the frame, all Very Cool. Definately worth a restoration.”

1945 GPW Anoka, MN **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,000.

1945-gpw-anoka-mn

“Very nice late war production (June 1945) 1/4 ton Ford jeep. All major components on jeep are original. The frame, engine block, and data plate on glove box all have matching numbers (271418), and because this is a late war composite jeep, the tub is a ACM Type 2 and has serial number 246701.

Jeep has undergone a complete ground up restoration to include; engine completely rebuilt (cylinders oversized .40), transmission rebuilt, transfer case rebuilt, brake system rebuilt, steering system rebuilt, new wiring harness, and both differentials rebuilt. In addition, the floor of the tub was replaced. I have receipts for all the work that was done, including the many new or NOS parts that were purchased for the restoration. I would classify this jeep a motor pool class restoration, not a factory class.
