Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “49 Willies one of a kind Jeep. Featured in Rod Authority Magazine in 2018, this was my daily driver in 2018 and you will not be disappointed with the looks, waves and thumbs up. The trophies from the car shows are also extremely nice! Won an award at each show we have entered.
This ‘one off’ custom has been built right. The body is all original steel. The frame is ‘C notched and boxed’. 400cdi Ford V8, mild cam, Edlebrock Carb, C6 automatic transmission capped off with a Ford 9” rear end.
The top and doors have been chopped. Customer made tonneau cover hides the battery and 13 gallon fuel cell. Custom built 4 link. 46-48 Jeep Comanche 2 wheel drive front end. New pads all the way around, hand made steering wheel, mechanical door latches opened from the interior. US Steel solid wheels, I have 2 additional US Steel wheels that are 20” x 9” with BFG runflats and spacers. If you plan to trailer this you may need to install them to fit on the trailer.
The zoomie exhaust is loud but there are baffles in each tube. Starts, runs and drives like you would expect.”

“Hello, for sale I have my 1948 Willy’s rat rod. I have put a lot of time and money into this, and just don’t have enough time to finish it up right now. Here’s the story on it.
I bought a 1948 Willy’s Army Jeep, took the tub off and hand it sandblasted. I then purchased original parts for it planning on restoring it to an original army Jeep. So I have special ordered original green military paint for it, original windshield, hood, dash, seat brackets, etc.
I then decided to take the project it a different direction, and purchased a nice 1989 Crown Victoria with 60,000 miles on it, and the Ford 5.0 fuel injected engine. It has coil-over suspension in the front and rear, along with disk brakes.

(10/25/2016) “I have a 1962 WILLY’s Overland Truck/305 Engine /350 Transaction .The truck cab it’s self was customize by taking 7″ out of the center of the body & slanting it inward. The top was cut and shortened with a new top made out of a 1961 ford hood,this top will unbolt & come off to make this a open wheel roster ( how cool). The body was channeled over a 1988 Chevy S10 frame, new brake lines ,master cylinder booster ,brakes caliber’s ,& brake pads and shoes, and the rear differential ( Chevy 10 bolt ) has a Eaton locker pos a track, with 4/11 gears .The front grill has a 46 Chevy for the top half & the bottom half is a 51 Packard. The 1985 Camaro engine ,305 high output has a mild cam,aluminum intake,a new 600 Edelbrock carb, & a new HEI distributor . Home made exhaust manifold’s with side pipe’s . The transition a 350 TH shifts good & hard. This Truck run’s and drive’s great (fast & fun) ,one nice thing there is a endless amount of things to do to make this your truck $12,500.00 ,You can view more of this truck on YouTube @ 4 madmax4444 .”

This is up for sale again on eBay. Regarding the “1953 Willys MB Jeep F-head” statement, the seller included that to attract hits rather than for accuracy (we had this discussion back in 2014).

This stainless roadster was spotted for sale by Roger Martin. It’s an interesting build to look at, but I have been told that caution should be taken when dealing with the seller (Gateway Classic Cars).
“1941 Willys Jeep for sale in our Detroit showroom! This Jeep is a blast from the past! This Jeep for sale is an attention grabber! You will get looks up and down the road! This 1941 Willys is a full custom build with a custom made stainless steel body that is 4 inches longer in the front seat area and 6 inches longer in the rear seat area which makes for a much more comfortable ride. The floorboards are raised 3 inches and it is sitting on a reproduction Willys frame from the firewall back.

“1947 willys jeep street rod project. This is a feeler. I am realizing i don’t have time to do these full on projects. I have 1 complete cj2a body, 2 sets of fenders, 2 hoods, 2 grills, 1 tailgate, 1 windshield frame and one front cowl/firewall sand blasted. Also 2 new rear fender sections. Custom built 2×3 frame with 5.7 hemi, 45ref trans and ram 1500 rear axle. New tires and wheels. I have a title and vin tag. 2005 hemi pcm and wiring harness. “This is a western car that was brought East. It is the original body mated to an 83 Ford Ranger chassis and uses the Ford running gear, V6 and automatic. Lots of changes like reversed doors, power windows, electric wipers, power seat, remote door openers, custom taillights, custom bumpers, tinted glass, dual exhausts, custom paint and more. This is a street rod and it is licensed and on the road, driven only in the summer but driven everywhere. It runs along fine on the turnpikes and keeps up with traffic at any legal speed.
