Has siren, shovel, and axe. Has passenger seat from M38 Jeep. Also has a military trailer (photo coming) that hooks up to it.

Still available 11/21/21. 1954 M170 frontline ambulance project. Produced from 1953 to 1963 totaled 4,155 trucks. The M170 provided the basis for the civilian CJ-6. This is as complete of a project you will find. Included are both driver and passenger seats, dash bar, spare tire carrier, correct windshield frame, NOS fuel tank, NOS medic light reel, repro top bows, original hood with original registration numbers, front and rear lift shackles, 4 correct military rims and along with other parts. Tub is 98% rust free with all the floor support hat channels in place and not rotted out. No engine, trans or t-case. A true survivor ready to be restored. $7000 (pretty firm on price). NO TRADES! “We have for auction today our 1957 Jeep Willys M-170 Frontline Ambulance. This Jeep runs and drives but needs the water pump replaced to be truly “road ready”. I have the clean California title in hand. I do not have anything else for this Jeep but what is pictured. I do however have several more Willys models I will be listing in the future.

The engine starts and sounds good but the water pump does need replaced. Transmission shifts fine and all gears work correct. I have video of the Jeep running if anybody would like me to send it, just ask with an email to send to.

Cosmetically, this Jeep is a very worthwhile project as not many are still around. It appears to have the original paint but it is faded and not perfect, the only rust is on the bottom of the spare tire well (see close up pic). No previous body repairs or major damage noted. Windshield, tail lights and front lower marker lights need replaced. The previous owner had this Jeep stored indoors and since we have owned it we have done the same- stored indoors in the desert climate, it is very well preserved.

Interior is pretty much like you see it, bare except for the dash components. This Jeep is stored in Moreno Valley California, 92551 near March Air Base.”

Nick’s got this M-170 for sale.

“Clear title. Willys M170 frontline ambulance, essentially a stretched M38A1 or military CJ6. Only 4,155 were produced. Lots of new parts. I purchased this Jeep mostly disassembled. It has a correct F134 4 cyl but CJ engine. With a test ignition setup from my other Jeep, I was able to test fire this engine. Installed a new clutch, throwout bearing, pilot bushing, and return spring. Mated the engine to a shifting transmission/tcase.

The previous owner purchased all new brake parts including master cylinder, shoes, wheel cylinders, rubber and hard lines (hanging brake setup in the engine bay isn’t part of this). I took apart the front hubs to ensure parts were installed correctly. Ended up replacing wheel bearings, races, and repacked bearing grease. Once I reassembled and attempted to adjust the brakes, I found the hubs were warped and lost all interest. Major parts such as body are lightly assembled.

Was going to do a patina build. I pressure washed the tub to get down to original paint on the driver side. Started using aircraft stripper on the rest. Rest of body and seats are untouched from an M38A1. Tires are weather checked but good enough for cruising around. Misc parts such as driveshafts, correct tail lights, etc are on a skid.”
