This M-38 has an APU hood. This must have been swapped onto it when the F-head was installed (maybe from the same APU?).
“1952 Jeep m38 need radiator, and maybe engine overhaul. See pictures needs to be restored but good project for someone. Asking $500 but look and let me know,”

“Clean title in hand. VIN# (serial #) on title matches original badges. I also have the “arctic” package for this jeep, which includes the hardtop and full doors. Jeep is a 3 speed manual and has the PTO unit (to the rear). Sears Roebuck lockout hubs. The engine is an F-134 “Hurricane” (as I’ve determined from the identification numbers on the block). I was told the jeep had been issued to Minot AFB in North Dakota. As I am told, I am the 3rd titled owner from the US Military. After being sold publicly, this jeep ended up on a farm in Minnesota. I also have a copy of the original technical order (manual) as issued by the US Military. The frame appears to only have surface rust and is not compromised. The jeep runs and start on the first turn! It has been updated to a 12-volt system.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $7500. New pics show this has a set of rare Watson hubs.
“Family situation forces sale. 1953 Hurricane engine, T-90 transmission, new glass, newer tires, newly rebuilt generator, 12 volt, newer battery, new regulator. The tool channels were filled with bondo.
The id number is a MB number, but is considered a 1947 by the DMV. The tub is a MB. The jeep was modified for a film to look like a M38. The driver side has been smoothed over with bondo at some point, but the ribs for the tools can be seen on the inside.
The window is post war as well as the M38 grille.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was No Price.
Not sure how much value is here. It is listed as a 1947 CJ-2A. It might have a mix of parts.
“47 flat fender project. Was going to build it for my daughter to drive to high school but had a change of plans. It is currently registered and titled in my name. No motor or trans but the complete chassis and body is there just far from perfect. The tool box under the passenger seat is not rotted. Interested in trading or selling. Always looking for chevy/gmc stuff preferably 4×4 but open to offers just no fords.”
This has a few mods. It lacks bumpers??
“Very nice 4 wheel drive that you can drive almost anywhere
Why buy a razor or quad when you can drive this to work or on the mountain paths lots of new great xmas gift has soft top and doors also has working heater less than 15000 miles
Text with questions may take partial trades”

Laurens is selling his nice looking M-38.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200.
Mouse ate some wiring, so it doesn’t run at the moment. It might not take much to get it going again.
“1952 Willys Jeep. Selling due to the death of the owner. I do not know the details or history of this Willys. It is currently not running because mice ate some wiring. It should run but you should consider as non-running. A couple oddities…there was power brakes and a different gas pedal installed and it has street tires. I guess the plan was to have a daily driver. I don’t know. Anyway, other than that it’s pretty neat looking. I have the transferable registration. $4200.”
Listed as a “Navy” 1948, this may have been a Navy M-38.
“1948 Willys Jeep Navy Military issue. Engine runs good needs a little work. Engine is 4 cylinder flat head. Make Offer.”

(09/08/2017) Not sure why the back is solid.
“1951 Willies Jeep motor is not good, but, has Buick v6, 3 speed manual trans with overdrive which was working when I parked it..This is a project Jeep and will need new interior and paint. Body is straight and not rusted.I have had this Jeep for 39 years but no longer have paper work on it.”
https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/1951-willies-jeep/6374671014.html
Doesn’t run and has been sitting for 3 decades.
“This jeep has been in a storage shed for over 30 years, I have not had it running. It has a pretty solid body and has most of the original military features in tact. i.e. 24 volt electrical, headlight guards, bows, etc.. I do have a clear title which indicates the 1951 Willys status but does not reflect the same serial number?
There is a rust hole in the right rear corner and the passenger side floor board looks week, other wise pretty solid. The gas tank has been replaced by a civilian tank with smaller filler, not sure why. It does not turn over at this point, but I have not tried very hard.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.
A project.
“I have here a 50s style Willy’s Jeep. I got it as a project for me to work on in my spare time. But I have not had time to track down all the parts. This Jeep would be a perfect project and once completed would make for an awesome collection.”
No pics and not much description. Probably an M-38 or CJ-3a.
“the jeep is new so far new motor and tub new every thing looking for jeep wrangler.”

(04/08/2017) The M-38 didn’t have full floaters in the rear (see last sentence in description). Jeep looks solid.
“In 1950, Willys introduced the M-38 (identified as an “MC” by Willys), a post-WWII Jeep based on the CJ-3A and fitted will military-specific features, including a one-piece foldable windshield, bottom-mounted wipers, a pintle hook for towing, lifting shackles, and a fuel filler on the drivers side. Pioneer tools (axe and shovel) were mounted on the passenger side, and larger tires were used (7:00×16) along with a waterproof electrical system, requiring a second battery. The M38 suspension and frame were stronger than that of its civilian sibling (the CJ-3A) and had a full-floating rear axle.”
