“Rare find. Restoration just finished. Absolutely no rust through repair anywhere with one exception. Stainless steel plate welded into floor pan under where original gas tank trapped moisture / minor pin hole corrosion. Engine disassembled, tolerances checked, valves ground. New water pump, starter, generator, gages, fuel pump, gas tank. Converted to 12V. New axel seals, front and rear. All components of steering system rebuilt including gear box. Seats restored with original material and stainless steel hardware. New exhaust system. Completely revised and upgraded brake system. 11″ self adjusting drums, rear. 1/2 ton chevrolet truck front disk brakes with heavy duty rotors and adjustable proportioning valve. Modern duel reservoir master cylinder.”

“What you are looking at is an original 1952 Willys M38 (MC) military Jeep. This Jeep was used during the Korean war era. It was a Barn Find! I found this Jeep in a country barn back in the woods of Florence, MS. I am the second owner of this Jeep. The Jeep has been motor-pool restored and is in near perfect condition. It is all original with original 24 volt system. Correct lighting including blackout. I installed a left hand tail light on the right side to make it easier for other drivers to see for safer driving. Drives great. No bondo. All metal. Original bows and all. Fuel gauge is not operational and needs windshield wiper blades. Four wheel drive works as it should! It could use new tires. NDCC military non-directional tires can be bought from generation jeep’s web site for $80 a tire and the spare on the Jeep is ok. It currently has coop grip spurs on the original Willys rims. Clear title. It is a hop in and go original piece of U.S. history. All you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. I will repair anything that may need replacing for a 6 month period as long as the Jeep and the parts to make the repair are both brought to me to do so.”

“This is a 1952 M38 Willys (Korean war) Jeep. It has a 4cyl willys motor that runs just fine. It does need the canvas top and rear seat, and needs the origional steering wheel. The pictures show the vehicle quite well. This vehicle has some good history behind it. I will include the shop and parts manuals, both in hard copy. I will also include some Korean War field equipment (see photo). Bumper markings are (2nd Infantry Division that was in Korea in 1952. Please no tire kickers, or offering to trade. “Up for auction is my 1952 unrestored, all original, M38 Willys Army Jeep. Yes, unrestored, all 100% original rare barn find. I have had this M38 for about 1 1/2 years now. This M38 was hidden under tarps and a carport for years! I can not tell you the history of the last 60 years other than what I have done to it to get her running! There are rebuild/service tags still on the M38 from the late 50s and early 60s! So with that being said, here are the thing I had to do to make sure she was 100% road worthy!

New water pump; (2) New batteries; Radiator checked, pressure tested and new filler neck; gas tank- brand new NOS original I had; brakes- all new shoes, lines, wheel cylinders, hoses, fittings, master cylinder; exhaust- after market new pipes and muffler (it needed a muffler more than anything, but I still have the original exhaust which will be included with the M38); transmission- all new fluid, pressure plate and clutch, gaskets; transfer case- inspected, looks great; both axles- new seals, gaskets, fluid, both in great condition; new knuckle front seals; all new 24v bulbs; one new drivers side headlight; tires- are original (4) Cooper Cross Country military tires (50% tread left still); spare tire- Denman original (New, never seen pavement or dirt); I’m sure I’m leaving something out, but please ask me.

Now, about the motor! After 2 months of working on the above mentioned list, I started the M38 up. It ran good, but not great. Because of the motor sitting so long, it has valve lash. I pulled the motor, went to get a valve job, but instead decided to rebuild the entire motor. So, the motor is entirely rebuilt with brand new everything!! Only 225+/_ miles on the motor since Feb., 2012! It was professionally done and have ALL receipts! Everything on the motor itself has been cleaned, repainted. Carb- rebuilt, new gaskets and cleaned. Distributor- new cap, points”
