“1942 jeep willys 4×4 works with a 350 engine 4 speed.. needs a fuel tank . It does run just needs a fuel tank made for it. $2,300 obo”
UPDATE: **Sold** Was $4000.
“I have an unrestored 1942 Military Early Flat grill Willy’s (MB) for sale. The first 25,000 MB’s had these flat steel grills. It wears a cosmetic restoration with many decent parts on the jeep and is a nice 25 footer, but is not a restored vehicle. Good original 1942 MB restorable body. Will need correct floors and other items to make a fully functional original World War Two MB. It is complete, the engine is free and looks like making it run should be not a major effort, I bought it to swap out the GPW Ford parts on it, for my GPW. I did replace with 1942 Willy’s MB parts where needed. I will provide a notarized “bill of sale”, I bought last fall and do not intend on restoring this vehicle, I have my hands full with my other jeeps and my small ranch. It is as restorable jeep, but does need TLC. I am currently eliminating many of my project cars I will never finish. I have other vehicles for sale. These are current just taken pictures, please ignore that date on the pictures.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $995. Was restored for 2014 Memorial Day weekend and now in Jeep Plant in Toledo.
“1942 Willys jeep, WWII veteran, MB/M-38 project. 6 cylinder F6-161 Hurricane engine, 90 hp, Dana transmission, transfer case, and rear end (all turn freely). Engine is complete but DOES NOT RUN. Has tow bar for 2″ ball, spare tire, all seats present but no cushions, olive drab color, 2 part windshield
Corrosion on body pans but frame is solid. No data plates found but paperwork in glove box indicated a 1942 model military classic, last registered in Texas 1979. No title! Was found and purchased from junk dealer Wimberley, Tx. I will provide a bill of sale. This project will take a true serious restorer that can do body and engine work. However, you can’t beat the price for this old veteran. $995.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown.
I think the top is my favorite part, though it is showing its age. The seat covers are unique, too.
“Selling this for my father since he is no longer able to drive. This was purchased from the military (Letterkenny Army Depot) in the late 1940s. It has 53,000 ORIGINAL MILES. Has now been started for 3-4 years. The photos were taken about 18 months ago. The tires are all flat but as far as the rest of the jeep goes, it pretty much looks like the photos. Call for more information and a history on the jeep.”
Looks like a good price.

UPDATE: Was $6700.
I will say the motor fits nicely. But, the resale value would have been far better, and the install price cheaper, if they’d just rebuilt a flathead.

“Up for sale is my 1942 Willys MB Jeep. These WWII Jeeps are gaining in popularity and have become one of the “the must buy” affordable collector vehicles. I picked up this Jeep from the Northern reaches of the Bay Area where it had been parked for years due to a bad valve. Since acquiring the Jeep, I have addressed all the major issues to make this Jeep an extremely reliable cruiser. In fact, I drive it all the time to do local errands and to attend local car shows.
Work done within the last year:
– Engine valve to replace the one that had cracked
– Head gasket
– Head studs
– Original WWII head checked and restored
– Oil pump
– Distributor
– Points
– Plug wires
– Plugs
– Coil
– Cross over tube and intake hose
– Original WWII oil bath serviced
– Oil pan
– Water pump
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $900
