Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a project vehicle, new wheels and tires, new aluminum, radiator, new wiring harness, rebuild kits for trans, tcase, etc.. I don’t really need to sell it just never have time to get to it. “Looking to trade my 1953 CJ3B. It has a 283 V8 with a 2 spd powerglide transmission. I do have the 4wd tranny that came with it and the front driveshaft. Was tagged and inspected last year but have not redone it since putting the auto transmission in. It still needs some tinkering with the linkage to be completely ready. It has a little trouble shifting into park. Starts drives and stops. Could use a tune up. It will need a little patchwork done around the shifter. I also have a brand new soft top and doors that have never been installed. Would like to trade for and older car or truck or a rat rod. Doesn’t have to be completely finished I don’t mind doing a little work on something that catches my eye. Clear title in my name.”

My kids got me a brand new Henckel 8″ Chef’s knife for my birthday. Thursday night, while making some Pig Skin tacos (Tacos de Chicaron), I managed to cut my finger. So, I’ll be taking the day off of typing 🙂 … tacos turned out great! I got the idea from the Taco place we ate at in Lexington, Kentucky.

TRIP EAST: Sometime this weekend or early next week I’ll begin my drive eastward. Ann will be joining me for some or all of the trip. Somehow, we managed to thoroughly flub our communication. She thought I was just going to the Willys Reunion and coming back, so didn’t see the point in traveling. I knew she was going on a trip to the East Coast with her mother after we return home, so I figured she just didn’t want to be traveling all summer. Once she figured out I was going to be visiting folks and having some fun, she was all “hell ya I’m goin'”.
I have changed my route somewhat from my initial proposal. I will publish the new route/schedule around Wednesday or so. I awaiting some 7 day weather forecasts.
T-SHIRTS, no, MORE POSTERS: I did not get organized enough to print shirts for the trip. Over the past month and a half I’ve had a couple bouts of illness, which made me less productive than normal, so shirts will have to wait. However, some folks did not get posters, so I’ve ordered another round of 50. That will give me plenty for the trip and for the Willys Reunion.

Not perfect but much better than most you’ll find, if you can find one at all.
Old roller tires and wheels.
